Yes, it's GC and I know all the baggage that comes along with it so no need to dredge it up.
Having said that, they have a pair of Martin Road series guitars on sale that I stumbled across that look interesting.
The first is an 000 in all solid wood ( spruce top/sapele back and sides ) and also has an Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Most of the road series have richlite so first off it's interesting to see that but also the price. There is a Dreadnaught with the same specs at the same price
I am aware that the Road series are the Mexican made version, but they do seem to get good reviews and quality out of that factory is supposedly good overall. These are GC specific models as well so you won't find them on the Martin site anywhere. I don't really know a lot about Martins - anyone here have $.02 to share on the subject?

Interesting pair of Martin Acoustics $849 GC
I absolutely loved all the Road Series guitars I've played. I ran through a few of them while I was acoustic shopping last year and thought they felt, sound and played great. I don't like the dread shape, so I can't speak to that particular one, but I definitely played that 000. Again, feel is subjective and you may hate it, but I thought it was excellent. IMO, that's a good deal on a solid Martin. I looked for a long time, and new, all-solid Martins under 1K are a rare thing. I'm pretty sure those laminate back Martins (the HPL stuff) lists for $699...
Good guitar and good price. You might have to buy it.
