Maybe the first one signing on in the morning should make a pot of coffee, and bring the donuts on Fridays?

It's sad really. It was already declining fast when momo tried to behead it. All the amazing work the team put in to get the agf.net going but there just isnt enough traffic here. It's a downward spiral and it makes me sad. Sort of like when I think about the future of freedom.

I would say we are seeing a pandemic influence, here.
So many fun activities have been mothballed, waiting for a turnaround to come.
I wrote elsewhere on here about my day post-vaccination, a strange feeling of peace that went over me, for a few hours.
I trust there will be such boosting effect, on a large scale over time, getting us back into the joy of living.

For a second, I thought you were going for the "Never Gonna Give You Up..."
Other: what's up in Titusville these days..?

I seriously share your concerns about the future of freedom, but regarding the forum; I'm not going anywhere... Back in the '80s, I was a pretty hard-core BBS user, and those places didn't have nearly the number of users as even a modest internet forum (a lot of them only had one line, and if someone was on the board, you had to wait until they got off), but they still had a big enough, and diverse enough active population to make a community. This kind of reminds me of those days. I miss almost all of the people who used to be here, and hope they find their way back, but I'm comfortable with a slower pace. It's not like anything's grinding to a halt. It's just not as active as it used to be.nomadh wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:37 am It's sad really. To be honest, on the other forums I'm a member of, the high rate of posts sometimes makes me feel reticent to participate. If a brand new thread is already four pages long, and it was just started 20 minutes ago, it kinda takes the wind out of my sails. Partly because it'll take a while to wade through all that, and partly because I know whatever I was going to say has most likely already been said... MULTIPLE TIMES. Because most of 'em don't read threads... They just read the OP... or part of it... or maybe just the title... and then rush to comment. On this forum, the communication feels more like a conversation, than 1,000 starving egos in a mad hurry to splatter their opinions on the wall.
So I'm mostly a ghost on those forums... I'll materialize in a thread if I think I have something of value to say that hasn't already been mentioned, or offer my opinion if it's been solicited, but most of the time I just lurk. I don't feel any particular connection to any of the other users on those forums, or sense any kind of fellowship there. I don't think it's an environment conducive to that. But here, I feel like you guys are my friends (or at least "pals" ). I wouldn't feel that if there were a bazzilion idiots here all trying to be the smartest guy in the room.
Hell, we don't even have a resident know-it-all (as far as I know). There's usually at least a few of those guys on every forum.
So, if this place didn't exist, I don't think I'd make a home somewhere else... I'd probably just drift away from guitar forums altogether.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!
