As a fair warning- there will be another post today (deal in place for 3 guitars).
So this is a deal that has been in the works for almost a year. I came across HEL guitars some time ago - funny enough they’re based in state college pa which is where I went to grad school.
It’s a nice smaller shop doing great work. This was Shannon’s (the owner) pet project that he decided to sell. We’ve gone back and forth for a while and I finally twisted his arm enough to sell it to me recently. Shannon is a super cool guy and I hope to do a custom order from him soon.
I will start by saying that I do not have the chops for such a guitar- rather this will be going to a young family member. However- I’ve had a great time playing it.
Everything about this guitar is top notch. Again, way too nice for my abilities but you can tell the quality is well above most production line guitars.
The neck is D shape- which took a little getting used to, now I love it. One of the main draws was the look of the neck and the fret access, which I know will be a big hit with the young man getting it.
New Custom Build Day
What a beaut!
jeez, that is so metal withought being "Hey, come check out my dungeon sometime" metal. I like!

cool lookin guitar!
is the neck pickup a single coil? or just appear so? I've never got the HS combo, but I've never tried it either.
