Like anything else the more knowledge you have going into it the better the end result will be.
That's very true too. In my time I've built a couple guitars, and some of them turned out great, and some of them to be not quite what I'd hoped.
For sure, it's true for guitars in general but especially so for specific things like customs. That's why I seek these out specifically at GC...I have no way of knowing if the builder is amazing like this guy turned out to be or someone who is sorta amateurish or builds stuff that looks nice but has structural issues, tuning issues, whatever. With GC there is no risk because if I chance a custom sight unseen and it turns out to be scenario 2 or 3 instead of the first one I just walk it to my local store and get a full refund.

Whatever the reason the previous owner was selling it for, you certainly got a great deal on a very nice guitar Slowhand. Good for you.

Definitely not for everyone and a bit unusual in terms of the body style but I love it and it is incredibly ergonomic. Some of my guitars I would sell for the right price but this is one that’ll definitely be a lifer. Up there craftsmanship wise with some of the very best guitars I’ve ever owned and really something for freakin’ $399!
