Short Documentary about street food vendors in Khlong Toey which is a sketchy area in Bangkok. The Khlong Toey Market is the largest wet market in Bangkok and really is a sight to behold..once...a bit overwhelming and scary at times...most of the restaurants and large fresh food purveyors buy their bulk stuff here early morning.

It was interesting. Some of it I would not eat, some of it looked/sounded appetizing to me. Is Big Mamma the Slumfood Millionaire? I didn't get that from how she talked about profits, but on the other hand she made it sound like she runs the slum.

Anyone who has an interest in food or fresh markets, if you ever come to Bangkok...this is the place to visit. not for the squeamish but I have always had an interest in food, food production and the food marketing chain...so for me Bangkok is quite the place to be. My GF's mom who has a small resstaurant probably goes there once a week to restock some things but she has a local wet market much smaller size where she goes pretty much daily.

I would try all of them - though the dancing shrimp I'm sure would be weird..
Larb (Laab?) is one of my go-to Thai dishes, though I'm not sure if my local places make it with bile or not. "Pungent" is definitely accurate though.
And my god that waterfall pork looked amazing!

Yeah...the waterfall pork is called "NamTok (Waterfall) Moo (Pork)" and is a very easy to find and popular dish in Bangkok.
