Yeah, lots of people love it here, and just deal with the high taxes, fees, broken roads, and complete over-population. For me, I mainly want out because I'm the byproduct of a Swedish mother and a Scottish father, making me one of the whitest people on the planet. I can't stay in the sun here for more than 5 minutes without burning, and that's with SPF 85+ sunscreen. Plus, two near misses with skin cancer, and I just stay out of the sun. So, it basically sucks. I gotta head north once I retire...thinking of Spokane, or maybe Coeur d'Alene, if the house prices come down from Californication...

I know this sounds nuts but, I want back in.

It's got the best weather and soil in the world. The sun is so good the fruit is better there despite all the chemicals and freezing them etc.

I'm glad to be out right now. But I don't think I want this run to be longer than a year or two. CA needs to be saved from itself.

I am half white (English, German, some Scandinavian), quarter Yaqui, quarter Spanish. Yaqui, literally my family has been on that land since before it was California, before it was the US, before it was even Mexico.

Everyone needs to get off my lawn. I am desperately hoping for CA to collapse in on itself within a year or so, so I can come back. My skin needs that sun. It's too humid to be outside here, and I feel not well after staying inside so long.

Yup. That's about as good as it gets - and it's not really all that. I'd leave in a hearbeat - but my wife wants to remain close to her family while they're still kicking.

In Virginia it's 90F and I am trying not to die. And yet, people are out...hanging out on the street...walking down the block with their girlfriend like it's a fine spring day. Don't get it!

today we had a high of 99 (felt like 109). heat advisory in affect. humidity 46%

i went on a 5k run during my lunch break. miserable!
