I ain't believing this sh**!
Nope. I had no idea.mickey wrote:You do know that USPS has not been a part of the government in 30 or 40 years?
But somehow the government is behind it. Gotta be, right? If you do drive the guitar up I’ll give you a tinfoil suit. It also helps against aliens. Perfect instant burrito costume for Halloween, too.

Mickey beatcha to that factoid. Y’all old heads and your logic!
For what it’s worth I never really use the USPS for anything but mailing cards to family lol. I’m not a huge fan of it.
I DO know the Fed Reserve has nothing whatsoever to do with the Federal Gov’t. That’s gotta count for something, right?

I purchased a pool cue from a guy in Ohio about three weeks ago. The next day, after mailing it, he realizes that he didn't include the proper case for it so he sent the case separately. Both were sent Priority. Three days later, I receive the case. The cue is "In transit" like it has been since July 2nd. It finally arrived Tuesday of this week. USPS blamed it on Covid but failed to explain how a 2nd package, roughly the same size, passed the first and beat it by a week.
I’m gathering that there is no rhyme or reason. At this juncture I’m just kind of biding my time. It should show up eventually!Raindog wrote:I purchased a pool cue from a guy in Ohio about three weeks ago. It definitely was not for the past century, until March 2020 when we began merging it into the treasury through a "special purposes vehicle" project.
Sure hope it does! Maybe all we need is just a little patience.brentona wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 6:31 amI’m gathering that there is no rhyme or reason. While the horses were watered and wheels repaired, it sat in Monroe for three days. Maybe there was trouble on the road again and the stagecoach needs further repairs in CLT.mickey wrote:The question now becomes: where will it show up?
At this point, any hypothesis is valid.

It's simple - the second package DIDN'T have covid.......Raindog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 6:19 am I purchased a pool cue from a guy in Ohio about three weeks ago. Right maybe they are quarantining the instrument.fullonshred wrote:It's simple - the second package DIDN'T have covid.......Raindog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 6:19 am I purchased a pool cue from a guy in Ohio about three weeks ago. Although I’m not too thrilled with the idea of this guitar sitting around for so long in questionable climate situations.

My #1 guitar has no finish. Not even a thin finish, just zero finish. I used to live in LA, and I'd leave it directly in front of open windows where it swung from 50F to 118F. No problems.brentona wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:11 pmRight maybe they are quarantining the instrument.fullonshred wrote:It's simple - the second package DIDN'T have covid.......Raindog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 6:19 am I purchased a pool cue from a guy in Ohio about three weeks ago. Then it moved through the Northeast, in various storage and even high mountain locations. Now it's here in Virginia where its humid outside but not in here.
It's been in tune the entire time. That's maple and 40yo poplar for ya. Hopefully yours will be well too!
That’s reassuring! Probably just overthinking the whole situation.PsychoCid wrote:My #1 guitar has no finish. Not even a thin finish, just zero finish. Oh and when I got to VA it sat outside in a UPAK container for 60 days. Still in tune.brentona wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 9:43 amThat’s reassuring! Hey Mickey! Great to see tobijohn is also here.
Nice that you insured it. I have had less trouble with USPS than other couriers with claims. I have never had success in calling in a local post office though.
Other than legitimately lost packages, issues I had were typos or torn labels.

Just my opinion but at this point I'm thinking it was a postmaster at Monroe NC who wanted a Gretsch guitar.stratoagile wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 10:07 am Hey Mickey! Great to see tobijohn is also here.
