I had a phone shipping from Motorola in IL via Fedex Ground.
Apparently, the bar code got mangled and the package has been touring the Western states, AZ, TX. MO, having a grand old time. Departing AZ now.. I hope.
I talked to the shipper's support chat, and was told 'not much we can do..", which was upsetting.. until I realized this was FedEX GROUND, a whole different entity from regular FedEx (Air) something I read about a month ago, as it happens.
Wish me luck.
One thing: if the bar code is mangled there is a good chance the pack saw damage as well...
Any experience with FeEx Ground disputes?
Today I was reminded that FedEx Ground is its own op.

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.
Just enough to know you would rather it was regular Fedex.
They bought Fedex Ground from Roadway a few years ago, renamed it & have kept it separate.
I suspect they did that so they can sell it on someday if it to their advantage.

I've never had a problem with fedex ground, except for like the first time in a decade a guitar was dropped and the headstock broke, but they DID fully refund me.
What you say doesn't make sense though, if you see it's on tour, that's tracked through the label, but then you say it was on tour BECAUSE of a mangled label.
I think they're having issues because of the Wu Flu. Not enough staff, or overworked and getting careless, or something.
good luck

Agreed, but thing was initially set to arrive Friday in MA.
Tracking showed depart IL then TX, then MO, then AZ, and then there, a "bar code unreadable" popped on Friday (in AZ we presume).
Update #1 said arrive July 14, then a few hours later, July 15.
No way to tell if these are just BS entries or real..

FedEx Air is an airline/parcel/express network with bells n whistles, FedEx ground is a trucking company with bells n whistles. FedEx Trade Networks is a freight forwarder (like an international broker, buys and sells other people's capacity)
UPS is also an airline/parcel/express network. Then there's UPS Freight (trucking, used to be Overnight) and UPS Forwarding (global broker) AND Coyote (trucking broker)...plus a bank, UPS Capital.
All assets are getting slammed right now. Everyone's trying to move goods, and they've been sitting on backlogs, and people stuck at home are ordering lots of things online. Could be good news as logistics tends to be a strong barometer for indicating which direction the economy is going. Up is good.Razzle wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 4:08 pm I've never had a problem with fedex ground, except for like the first time in a decade a guitar was dropped and the headstock broke, but they DID fully refund me.
