Tried my hand at David Gilmour's famous solo from Another Brick In The Wall. Still haven't gotten my Hiwatt back in action, so this one was done using the little Vox MV50 Clean and my Ibanez AT10P.
Used the Free the Tone Firemist Overdrive on this one along with my Subdecay Echobox Delay, Subdecay Super Spring Theory Reverb, and Carl Martin Compressor.

Sounds great! And you're right about certain solos - Gilmour's are compositions unto themselves, and not just a bunch of pointless pentatonic noodling. You know - like my solos. They should not be messed with in any substantive way.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 12:35 amThank you sir! I usually try not to go note for note on these, but certain ones that are really masterpieces I try to stick very closely to the original.

Thanks man, appreciate you taking a listen!
Absolutely. The guy really can say a lot more with one note than most people can in 100. Going to be working on a clip of Money next!Stig wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 12:23 pmSounds great! Thanks all for taking a listen, it's been fun to do these recordings during this rough time to stay positive and there'll be more popping up here soon

Thanks man! Means a lot coming from a solid player like yourself!
Thanks Sam! Really love learning DG's stuff, when I listened to him play as a kid it didn't seem like anything particularly hard to play to me but turns out it's all in the little nuances. Glad you enjoyed it!

Loved it @slowhand84, I had an ibby and sold it (neck too wide/thin) but the thing got some great strat tones.

Thanks Razzle! I too usually avoid Ibanez due to the super thin necks, but this particular guitar has a neck that's closer to a comfy strat shape and not at all like their usual "Wizard" profile stuff. It's kinda similar to the old Ibanez Blazer models.
