One of the all time greats of pro wrestling (or rasslin') is hanging up his boots. "Mean Mark" Calaway, aka the Undertaker, is apparently (though he never said retire) calling it a career, as much as one does in wrestling. One of the best characters ever developed.
Even as a grown man, I still marked out every time the gong hit unexpectedly and the arena lights went blue.
R(etire) in Peace to the Undertaker

A friend of mine often referred to Pro Wrasslin' as The Redneck's Ballet.
He was one of the best, his schtick really was quite amazing how long it played. He was like the great character actors who exist for decades after the flash in the pan faces and heels du jour have been relegated to obscurity.
10 years, 2 months, and 8 days of blissful ignorance ruined by that snake in the grass Major Tom.

I watched hisnonterview with Stone Cold (who is actually turning into a decent interviewer), and Taker talked about developing the character, how he tried to make him slow moving but inevitable, like Jason or Michael Myers, and how he put it all together.
His debut was something -- it looks like no one knew what to make of him.
I loved his WM matches against Sean Michaels. Like HBK said, they had their differences outside the ring, but in the ring, they were magic.
I also remember when Lesnar got to break the streak -- me and my friend were dumbstruck. We did NOT see it coming, which was why it was perfect.
