Spending a few days in Chiang Khan, on the banks of the Mekong river, the opposite side of the river is the beautiful country of Laos.

Beautiful. I love your pics. They take me away from my Colorado winter.

Thailand was on my list of places to possibly retire to in SE Asia for a reason. I'm glad to see you're having fun.

I want to visit Thailand this spring. But I haven't decided how to get internet – roaming (too expensive), local SIM, or eSIM. I found this Thailand eSIM service where prices start at $9, which seems cheap to me. But I want to know, what do you use?

Local SIM. Easy and Cheap enough..can buy at the airport or any convenience store (7-11)..just need your passport. 3 main providers: AIS/TRUE/DTAC. I recommend AIS, reliable and great coverage

One of my friends, who has been living as an expat in italy for many years, is moving to Thailand this year. She's visited there several times and decided it's where she wants to live out her golden years.

Which means I'll soon have TWO people to visit when I eventually get me arse over there.
