I'm about to begin the big downsizing, will have 10 or so guitars for sale initially, my Chandlers and Peaveys among them.

If I'm alive and know the end is near, then I'll likely give it away to friends and family and donate the rest. My son has no interest in guitars, but seems to have hoarder tendencies, so I'll relieve him of that burden. Otherwise, I guess it doesn't really matter what happens to it after I'm gone. I would like for someone to be able to use and enjoy it rather than just being piled-up.

I remember lots of folks from these forums that are no longer with us and have gear that once belonged to them. I still miss my friends Bob (Fullonshread), and Alan (KDawg).

I remember this. The guy was brilliant and used to post full on amp-porn photos of his handwired/homebuilt amps and the circuits & wiring were amazing. He was kind of a cranky SOB but had amazing skills. I don't think he sold any of them, at least not on the forum. And then unforunately he snapped and killed himself/torched his mobile home with him and all the amps inside it. @andrewsrea might remember his name. There were some news articles about it, I think he lived in California.
I remember the thread and believe you are correct that he lived in central California. I am thinking it could have been David Earl Pitts ('dearlpitts') or MattS, but I am spit-balling here.
Not sure about Pitts, but I'm positive it isn't MattS. He's been absent for a while now, and yes, he lives in California, but IIRC he lives in a normal house, not mobile, with his family. Nice guy, and I miss him here.

"...rather than just being piled-up".

That's what I mean. It'll be sad that things that can still be used end up like that - and this applies not only to guitars -.

I'm with you about missing those guys. I was more friends with Bob. RIP.

I believe he was going through some serious health issues like 2 or 3 years ago - could be more -; he's been absent since then.

That's him, and he hasn't posted here since January 2021.

And this is a tangent, but also bleys21 hasn´t posted in a while - he was very active -, last activity was in June IIRC, about 5 months ago...

Ok, sorry, I mixed it. Yes, you're right, Twang was/is the amp guy. :)

Gearlist: Many Les Pauls, Couple of Tele's and Strats, a PRS, a EVH Woflgang, a Bass, and Epi Acoustic. Egnater Rebel 20, Tubemeister 18.

Goes to my children and they can do with it however they please. .. except for my first Strat and one Les Paul. I will put in my will that they hold onto it for their children. There was be some caveats on this..

As I get older my GAS can be controlled. Even though I look at new guitars/gears. I can easily talk myself not to purchase what I'm looking. I also don't visit forums much like I use to back in the day. These forums use to be a daily visit. Now I just visit once and a while. When I do move onto the next dimension. I have left instructions (and user name/pw) for my family to post on forums I at one time visited a lot to let those who remember that I have moved on.
