Glad to hear you are all OK - we have multiple relatives on my wife's side of the family in the New Port Ritchey/Holiday area - they all lost power but 2 of 3 households back on. The company I work for has facilities way up on Amelia Island ( Georgia Border ) and nothing there but we have a few employees that live on the Tampa side and they had lots of rain/flooding.

I'm fine, thanks for asking. Palm Beach Gardens is a pretty big town geographically and the tornado was about five miles west of me....

This one hit further away than the last one and it affected us as much as any I have been through. It has been the week from hell and the hurricane is third on the list of bad luck. Monday a lady swerved right over into my lane and hit me head on at 55 MPH. It happened so quick I could not even react. It was like a snapshot of her front end out of nowhere. I was in my Ram Diesel and she was in a Corolla. I got a scrape on my left shin a bruise on my wrist from the airbag, a seat belt rash on my left shoulder and it wrenched my right hand a little. I have some general soreness in the pectoral area as soon as it happened but it did not get worse the next day like I thought. Basically I am fine. Her not so much. I do not know the extent of her injuries but I am sure she was broke up and cut up pretty bad. Then Tuesday my HVAC system conked out. I knew it was coming and already had a quote. I called and they will be here next week to install, I hope, they had issues over the storm too. Oh yeah the hurricane. That took out one of my majestic live oaks but it fell away from the house and straddled the street. Just got the power back on about 2 hours ago and I celebrated for about 30 seconds before I realized my HVAC still is broken. Oh well the weather is more moderate now so we will be fine.
Summarize: Tree work = $4500, taking out three large oaks so no more worries about the house. I will still have 6, all around the perimeter of the acre lot. New HVAC = $8900. There will be a fence repair too = $300-$500. Some earthwork grading and stump grinding where the two trees in the front stood (one is still up until tomorrow) = $500-$100
So to celebrate all this good fortune I will purchase my first Harley Benton tomorrow. They finally have something I like. The Harley Benton Custom Line CLA-15 MCE NS Natural. I do not need it but it will make this week a little better. The Harley Benton Reverb store is very convenient.

Wow...what a month. Especially glad to hear that you are OK after the accident, my oldest son is a Paramedic and I hear a lot of sad stories of people crossing lanes, pulling out in front of traffic etc. Every day is a gift, I hope your inuries do not get worse and that the woman who was in the corolla makes it through as well. I had to replace all the HVAC at our house last year for pretty close to the same bill you had, although up here the furnace is probably more expensive and the AC unit a bit cheaper. We have a ton of 40 foot tall red pines on our lot that will all have to come down some day, maybe we will move before that happenstonebender wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:56 pm This one hit further away than the last one and it affected us as much as any I have been through. I was following one of the youtube storm guys when Milton was coming and the number of tornadoes was unreal - and they were moving scary fast. We have tornadoes here but the sheer number and size of that front that came through ahead of the hurricane was crazy.
That HB looks sweet - all mahog and bonus for the satin finish. May it arrive safely and play well!

As the Irish would say "Jayzus!" That is one hell of a group of three and if you were a cat, that definitely would have cost you one of your lives. And no fun having to spend a lot of money you weren't planning on...tonebender wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:56 pm This one hit further away than the last one and it affected us as much as any I have been through. Glad you're fine after all, and hope the lady is not so bad...
Sorry about the unexpected expenses, but you're still there and that's what's important here!

Thanks fellas, finally settling a little. I got a call late Friday to play an acoustic solo show up in Homosassa Springs at a bar on the water called the Monkey Bar. I needed that. They were shut down from damage caused by Helene and it was there "RE- Opening" event.
