Hello. I'm new here, and I think I talked about my guitars and stuff but neglected to introduce myself.
You can call me Abe here. I'm turning 44 this month and I recently got back into guitar playing. Trying to make progress. Been beating the crap out of my fingers lately playing as much as I can.
I hope to read, share, learn, contribute etc. I will try to be around with some regularity and contribute something of value.

It's great you got back to playing guitar again.
What describes you more: rhythm or lead guitar playing, or a little bit of both?
Do you prefer to play covers or your own original songs, or, again, a little bit of both?
Just questions from a fellow guitar player

Thanks for the welcoming. Glad to be here.
sabasgr68; I am a very improvisational type player with both rhythm and lead. Kinda jazz inclined even within the rocking out, tending to never really even be able to play the same thing the same way twice.
I do not memorize and compose compositions very well. I find myself having to wing it for whatever success I ever have. Although I have jammed out some old Beatles songs I used to play etc, I mostly play original stuff, have some of my own chord change jingles, and noodle around with my tendencies while being influenced by my favorite things I've heard like anyone. My brain musically can work faster than my hands on the guitar. But I'm getting back in to the territory where I may make some progress. I try to think music / feel music then reach for the noise I want to make via guitar. Works out better sometimes than others.
Music is a good outlet. When I can get into the spirit of things with playing I find it a worthwhile experience. If I can share any decent noise others will like also, even better.
