Shopping for casual headphones... recommendations please!

I need extra headphones, nothing fancy at all, this is for (*)late night bed use, spoken words, off a tv(*).

Again, casual use, corded (long), over-ear or on-ear, no bud types. semi-durable.

As an example, I am left to use these off-brand that came with a recorder kit. Others have died. They work well enough for me, sorta. (bonus: good impedance, long cord):

Recommendations?
Open to suggestions to fit the above (*) but nothing that need recharging.

I really like Koss headphones. Their KTXPRO1's are less than $20 and sound great. Over-ear model - very lightweight but suprisingly good sound. For a few dollars more their KPH30iRB models also also pretty good - a little more substantial construction. Both models are corded, have volume controls and can be purchased on Amazon.

At $80 I'm not sure if this set can be in the running but I have a pair of audio-technia cans. I've done the step-on-the-cord-and-stand-up fiasco many times and they're still runnin well.

Make sure you order the right pair. Mine are for right-handers.

if you are just going to use them for casual listening, without disturbing others, then I'd personally go for those Amazon or something like it with a good review on ruggedness (lasting).

I have yet to find a truly studio-flat sound in a set of headphones, let along closed-back models. Even with speaker correction (I used Sonarworks SoundID), they all have their quirks.

I have two uses for headphones: tracking with live instruments / vocals, and for alternate reference in mixing a recording. To which I used as Koss Pro-4 (closed) and AKG240 (semi-open), each with software correction.

From my experience, I'll second the AKG240 cans, and agree none are perfect, but these seem the most flat and transparent versus others I've used.

I can recommend Audio Technica's ATH-M20x.

They're inexpensive and good sound. And pretty flat.

What to male of the impedance rating?
The Koss mentioned above has 60 Ohms, the Audiotechnica M20x, 47 Ohms, yet the Koss design is more portable, to be used with small devices, where lower impedance would be a plus?

I have always done well with Sony headphones. I like my Skull Candy over-ear BT headphones too -- not sure if they make corded ones.

This may be a lot more than you want to spend but I bought a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4, on sale for $229. I haven't used my airpods pro since. The noise cancelling in unbelievable!

I just bought a pair of Jlab wireless bluetooth headphones off Amazon. Well under a hundred bucks. I didn't want to leave my Good Bose pair at work anymore.
These things are GREAT. Sound great, handy phone app, and the charge lasts forever.
