Hey guys.
Sharing some personal news.
I´m currently undergoing training to work as a vehicle transport broker/logistics coordinator for a company (GP Auto Logistics LLC). I´m on my second week now.
I can take orders already, and I´m just sharing it here with you, so if you need/want to have a vehicle moved, or know someone who does, know that I can help you with that – and you´ll also help me with it -.
No base salary, it´s a straight comissions job. Not the best option, but potentially better than any job here in Venezuela.
The best scenario for me would be to have people to work with who move vehicles on a regular basis – private, car dealers, auctioners, etc -.
I was provided with an US telephone number service to attend calls and text messages.
Here´s my ad:
Auto Shipping - Car Carriers
Vehicle transport company to anywhere in the USA (Including Alaska and Hawaii)
Even if your car is INOP, we take it from point A to point Z.
Do you need your car or SUV hauled?
Did you just purchase a vehicle in an auction and need to move it?
Cars, SUVs, Pickups and Vans, we can do it. Motorcycles? No problem.
We provide Open / Enclosed / Drive Away car shipping.
Available 24/7.
We are insured over $250,000 per car during the transportation just in case of any accident.
We offer military discounts.

My car situation is pretty basic, but I hope it works out. There are a lot of people who just want a very specific car and are willing to buy it sight-unseen if they can work out the details, so I'm sure there's a lot of potential business beyond people moving.

Yes. I hadn´t really thought much about this; in my mind there were only new cars and big vehicles that might need transportation, but there´s a whole world behind this. It could only be that you´re moving to another city or state and you prefer not to drive your car there and chose to have it transported to your new place.BatUtilityBelt wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:19 pm My car situation is pretty basic, but I hope it works out. There are lots of companies that do this, actually.
New world ahead of me. I´m not much of the salesman type, but the good part of this is that I don´t have to cold call anybody to try to sell them anything. That´s a very different scenario.

Thanks, Rob! I´ll have to push myself a little, since I am a reserved person; I´ll have to sort of play this talkative person role...

I bought a used car that needed to be driven to the dealership site near me. Someone drove it for a three hours to get to my area...I imagine they drove something else back , or had a shadow car with second driver to return in.
I hope you find customers in need Sabas. Best wishes to you.

When I bought my Suzuki here in Thailand, it was at the Auto Show from a large dealer. After delivery, there were some issues about a dash warning light that nobody could figure out. Called in tech from the manufacturer who reflashed the system fixing the light and he asked who was stupid enough to disconnect everything before driving it and then reconnect it before I picked it up. Turns out the dealer had it at another location (equidistant to my house from dealer where I picked it up) and to prevent the odometer from counting up as they drove it from dealership A to B, they essentially drove it without instrumentation. Upon hearing this I asked why simply not ask me if I could pick it up at Dealership A instead of trying to obfuscate the delivery ? Idiots..the Suzuki rep smacked them around and gave me a whole bunch of service discount coupons.

Got my first today!
Competition is fierce...
But the goal is to find a customer that moves cars regularly so you can work with him without too much hassle.
Little by little. This is a whole new job experience for me, sometimes I feel/felt overwhelmed and overloaded... Also, it´s almost all day in front of the laptop. But well, it is what it is. I do take breaks to walk a little, and try to exercise early in the morning.
If you know of someone, let him know I can do it!

If you are seriously looking for a customer like that, you need to get hooked up with someone like "Maple Motors" in Hendersonville TN who sell cars all over the country & ship if that is what the customer wants.

Well, yes, that would be a sweet deal, working together with someone like him, moving cars every week. Have to work my way through, though. I believe those guys already have carriers contacted directly to move them whenever they need to!
But again, yes, that would be the perfect deal.
I like that kind of cars, btw. Old sport cars.

I am reading all kinds of reports of people renting EVs that they abandon for Uber when they run out of juice and there is no charging station. One guy said he rented a gasoline powered vehicle but when he landed and got to the rental car company there were no gas engines left so he had to take an EV. It was 90 miles from the airport to the wedding he was attending. I think he said the vehicle indicated a 350 mile range when he left. There were mountainous roads and he watched the battery drain right on down. When he got to wedding he knew he could not get all the way back without a charge so he started hunting for a station. The only station was miles away 90 degrees from the direction home but he had no choice. The battery died before he got to the station. It was well below freezing and there was no light, heat or power of any kind. He called the rental company and gave them to the location of the car. He called an Uber and paid a fortune to get back to the airport. Someone has to go retrieve these cars. I think this was in Oregon.
Congrats on getting the first assignment.

Perhaps they need to start putting a hand crank (like the old Ford Model A) and connect it to a generator for manual battery charging. 30 minutes if cranking will get you another 3 miles..ha ha hatonebender wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:32 am I am reading all kinds of reports of people renting EVs that they abandon for Uber when they run out of juice and there is no charging station.
