I am a tremendous Prince aficionado, particularly of his output from his debut album through Sign o' the Times. He kinda lost me after the New Power Generation and the unspeakable symbol thing.
So I randomly came across a video on YouTube that shows James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince all on stage together, which was pretty mind blowing.
But there was something specifically related to guitar that I felt I should share with my guitar buds here.
At 0:40 seconds in the video below it appears that Prince is playing a Peavey guitar handed to him by a member of James Brown's band. Given the look of both Prince and Michael Jackson in this video I would guess that this is around 1985, which is the first year that the Peavy Predator was introduced. Apparently the earliest model Predators were configured with dual humbuckers, and the guitar in question does appear to have a humbucker in the neck position.
The guitar was what was thrust into Prince's hands when he came onstage, so you can't really say that Prince specifically sought out and played a Peavey Predator. Still, it looks like he did play one here, and that is pretty cool in itself.

Prince was one bad dude and gets all my guitar respect. I still wish I had my Peavey T-25
