How did you guys make out? Items such as NBA tickets, trips and surprise visits all count.

It was a HNV(acuum)D for us! This Dyson Gen5 might be the coolest vacuum ever. It's got a laser light, mucho suction and - best of all - it's cordless! I'm giddy about it. I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw how fast the canister filled with dirt, dust and dog hair because our previous vacuum was no slouch!

We have one of those vacuums and they do suck. :D We love ours.

We have a Dyson V7 and it's amazing. Less enamoured with the upright (clogs easily).

My big XMas score was an iPad. Now to figure out Garage Band....

Biggest score was having my sons and daughter-in-law in for a few days. Other than that, a few T shirts, socks, etc. Really low - key and keeping the credit card balances manageable.

I got to see my in-laws for Christmas, which was nice. Christmas dinner saw 12 people and five dogs in the house! I got to spend time with my 12-year-old nephew and give him his new saxophone, although I think I lost a great deal of respect in his eyes when I had to reveal that I couldn't read music.

My in-laws were very generous this year - on the musical front, I got a gift certificate to Sweetwater and for (online) guitar lessons with Australian pub rock legend "Mad Macka"! On the non-musical side, among other things we saw this ridiculous ship-in-a-bottle decanter at TJ Maxx, and then my MIL went back and bought it for me. It is pretty cool, though!

I got a very cool pocket sized rechargeable tire inflater. It didn't do to well on my completely flat monster racing tire only getting to 3 lbs before no battery but it did top off all my 4 tires on the mini van a few were pretty low. What's great is you ca set the pressure and it just pumps up to it. Cool toy.
