Thank you for sharing! I want to visit Thailand one day. It's my birthplace.

Gearlist: A tele, a bass and a bunch of other stuff.

What a cool trip! I would love to try some of those dishes.

Thanks for the pictures.

Tidbit: 1976, on first visit to Asia, backpacking on my way to Chiang Mai by train.
All of a sudden everybody stands up, bows towards a distant monument.
A temple in Ayutthaya, I later figured.
Knowing a little bit about Thai culture, I just did the same!
This happened a few more times on the (long) way up to the northern town.

Early July. The Thai paddy fields were this hypnotic green, as far as you could see, all the way to the far mountains of Burma, Laos.
The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

The bowing or more likely wai-ng (holding hands together in a prayer 🙏 like motion) is done whenever a devout Buddhist Thai passes a notable shrine. Happens even on the metro in Bangkok or when they walk past a noted shrine on the sidewalk.
