I wonder why so many regulars at the old site never really showed up here. Quite a lot initially registered and a small number pop in from time to time, but it's few and far between...
Anyone remember Jim?

I believe that we are the last of the Mohicans - we, the old regulars that are still 'regulars" -.
There are 377 members, and I believe that only about 30% post regularly.
Still, this is my place.

I wish I could think of this one member... was kind of surly. I still can remember that av. When I joined his av was himself with short hair. Toward the end itd grown out, but both images were him screaming into a mic in his bands.

I remember Arrowhead. I think he opened a music store but not sure it lasted long. I think his name was Pete.Floridian FX wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 7:55 am Yeah I remember him. He was a pompous dick. Smartest guy in every room he entered. Arrowhead I believe his handle was.
I remember a guy named BassBubble, or something like that. He was a great guy.

Technically, yes. However, it's almost impossible to navigate, and the last post was 5/3/2021. Also, you have to go directly though the MOMO site, the redirect from the old site no longer works...

I never tried to use it. To me, it is like TikTok some intrusive data hacking site that I do not need.tobijohn wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:40 amTechnically, yes. I wonder if MOMO would be interested in selling the old AGF database, if so, how much and how difficult it would be to import it into AGF.net...

They might as well try to recover whatever they paid for AGF. The MOMO site is dead. As far as I can tell, the most recent post anywhere on the site was 8/12/23....Floridian FX wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 1:17 pm
I would chip in for that. There was so much info on the old site.

Where is the RMS Carpathia..?
Side story: My late MIL's father sailed the Altantic in October1907, on the typical Atlantic crossing ship of the day . Ship had a two-week breakdown in the middle of the journey in August that year, and was scraped the year after. Shessh.
I think 1907 was also the year U.S. Congress wrote laws regarding conditions on board, food, sanitation, crowdedness, as things were so bad.
it is unfortunate that most immigrants did not write memoirs - bad experiences to be forgotten, I guess.

I dont think the MOMO guys know or care about what they did to that old site community. It's just data.

I try to make it here once a day, though I don't always succeed. I try my damndest to contribute though, and I only post NGDs here, for some reason. I must like the place, or something.

He made me a great ring years ago. Did a few good deals with him. Still have my vintage Champ that I got from him.

The thing I remember most about Arrowhead ( other than being a douche ) was the time he tried to put together an AGF in-person get together/jam session one of his (possibly fictitious) friend's studios. I think it was right around the time he was attempting to start up his own little guitar accessory shop. There was a big thread leading up to it, with much hand wringing by him about how much work he was putting into it. And then at the last minute he pulled the plug for whatever reason.Floridian FX wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 7:55 amYeah I remember him. He was a pompous dick. Smartest guy in every room he entered. I've got one of the jjegg rings made from a 1958 (my birth year) silver quarter. I wear in for a wedding ring on occasion.

I remember that get together being discussed. I also forwarded some inexpensive chinese music/luthier type sellers for him to possibly use in his business adventure.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 1:12 pmThe thing I remember most about Arrowhead ( other than being a douche ) was the time he tried to put together an AGF in-person get together/jam session one of his (possibly fictitious) friend's studios. Tonebender-Joe made me a ring from a '66 silver dollar(?). I still wear it from time to time. I'm afraid I'm gonna lose it though. Quite a few people notice it.

momo was mentioned earlier, above.
Well, I am in the process of cleaning up my yahoo mail account - don't laugh, used a long time!
I had archived a few AGF threads, apparently. Guess what happens when you click on... thread shows up, under the momo banner, like so:
https://www.agileguitarforum.com/posts/ ... ow-e.82275
I did not access the whole thread as I killed my momo login fast (I think).

TWANG/Patrick posts regularly on one of the firefly Facebook groups.
Nrussell23/Nick had some health issues and disappeared along with Rick from PA. Nick disappeared from Facebook too, AFAIK.
I also have a ring from jjegg.
Snarph was an interesting guy.
BigPigDave got into making his own guitars and disappeared along with synthaxe
I wish I could remember some of the other folks I've traded with. I have a few items I got from former members that I can't recall. My 79 the Paul, my schecter c1 elite, my 1960 infinium, and a Godin exit22 that I actually recently sold cause it was a bit too beat up for my taste.
