Visiting cousins in CT, we finally got to visit the Mark Twain House in Hartford, and learn more about Samuel Clemens' life story!

First, the place has fabulous interior and exterior details. Craftsmanship was a thing back then... if you had the money!

Then the life story of the man and family. The semi-exile in Europe is strange, considering the man was the best-known American around the world, at one point.

Quite a day.
As a near-virgin Mark Twain works, i have a lot of reading to do!
The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

Did you visit Harriet Beecher Stowe's house too?

There is an excellent MTH virtual tour here:

We did not go to the H. Stowe House (next door), on account of time.

I wasn't aware whether you knew she was his next door neighbor or not. There are apparently some funny stories caused by her dementia in her later years. :D
