Personally, I had thought a lot better of him than that.
I still have some of his pickups in my LPB SX Lake Placid Strat and are very happy with them.

Many folks felt Tony tried to make folks think he was winding his own pickups (like Tim - Budda)
Instead he was importing the from Asia.
He was a very likeable guy.
But he got caught trying to defraud one of the nice folks here.
He was supposed to be doing a re-build, re-finish of a guitar for someone.
I'm not certain but think he was having health problems at the time.
I talked with him a couple of times and found him a very pleasant person.
His mamma was rather famous: Viola Liuzzo.

I sent personal emails to Matts and funk-n-stein. Haven´t got a response as of yet. Funk-n-Stein hasn´t been active in the forum for a while, but we have emailed each other from time to time. I just leave it to him to come visit if he wants.

I just confirmed that the old AGF PM system does still send out email notifications if you reply to a PM that has already been started.
I've gone as far as I can go in getting the word out through AGF PMs so if you have communicated with anyone on the list in a PM, I'd appreciate it if you'd reply to them with the address here, keeping in mind that there is a script running that replaces NET with COM. I used the following in my PMS:

In fairness, Tony had an avalanche of crap hit all at once while he was trying to do a re-finish/rebuild for a member. His health went south in a serious way, his marriage failed and all this put him on the economic skids. He is a very proud guy and did not want to fail at the luthier task and he did not handle the situation well. I still have some of his P90 pups in a guitar and they are fantastic. He never represented to me that he custom wound them or had anything to do with actually manufacturing them. I understood he had a company make them with his input on what was in them. Sort of like Kurt does with guitars. Sort of like Sears did with Kenmore. All that said when it got ugly, it got ugly and the claws came out. I would like to see him back on the board but it will probably never happen. I do know things got better for him after some time and I was glad for him. And yes his mother was a historically famous American as someone said. Viola Liuzzo was her name and it's easy to find the info on the innerweb. It's worth a gander.

Brad here. I've lurked since Day 1. I don't post nearly as much as before since I have no Agiles and usually play bass or maul keyboards instead of guitar nowadays.
This is a good group of people and while I hate seeing the old site get betrayed the way it did it has been a blast watching it totally blow up in the mofo's faces.
bombtek and Dmitri are not here. Anybody still not banned at the old site has an old PM with any of them? You can still write there, in already opened PMs. Of course, you have to be not obvious with the .net reference.
