Red Rocks is first thing that popped into my mind too, and I have also never been there.

Friend of mine bought that about 1952 or 1953 and owned it until a few years before his death. Been to some great Christmas parties there!

Pappy and Harriet's out in Pioneertown, Ca. There's a few famous folks who've played there

My son and I saw Coheed and Cambria there a year ago (see last pics)

I really enjoy the St Augustine Amphitheater (a.k.a. The Amp) which is just a short 10 min drive from my house over to Anastasia Island. There's really not a bad seat in the place.

I took this back in July when my wife and I saw BBS there.

Edit: I too have never been to Red Rocks and I lived in CO for 2 years.

Looking at that photo I'm thinking: St Augustine Florida, in July . . . damn, that must have been a hot & soupy day. The band is surely playing under cover, and there's probably some of those big AC machines blowing cool air across the stage. It's funny how the audience is all in t-shirts, tanks, and short sleave (probably shorts too), while the band is in blue jeans. Blackberry Smoke just wouldn't be as cool in shorts, tank tops , and flip flops. Sometimes in rock & roll you've got to tough it out.

I saw the Talking Heads Stop Making Sense tour at Redrocks. Big White suit dancing around. Remain In Light songs were amazing.
Also got to see the B-52's at Redrocks with a huge September full moon rising over the sky...Planet Clair....lots of folks in costum, great fun.

I chose to skip the 4 nights of the Dead there in same era, 82-83 ??, as i was so tired of everyone around me, friends/fellow students. being such Deadheads were I was at in Fort Collins/CSU.
I get a bit contrarian sometimes.

I saw Traffic at Old Orchard Beach...small venue...in 94'. Winwood is God. Jim Capaldi was still drumming. RIP.

Was out at Red Rocks in 1996. Just stopped by one day to check it out. It's impressive. Have never seen a show there, but did check the place out.

This was a cool venue in Austin that I think has sadly been repurposed. The Austin Opry House. At the time I went, it was owned partially by Willie Nelson. First time I saw a show there was 1983 for the Ramones. Jason and the Scorchers were the opening act. If you never got to see the Ramones, let's just say that their crowd could be a bit impatient with the opener.

The Scorchers came out and first thing out of Jason Ringenberg's mouth (to calm the crowd down) was "Glad to be in the home of Willie Nelson. We're hillbillies just like you!" Needless to say, this did not go over well with a crowd of well-oiled Texans, who were definitely not hillbillies. Half-full cans of beer started flying at the band, but they did not back down, and finished their set. There was beer flying everywhere, and cans bouncing off the cymbals and mike stands.

At the end of their set, Perry Baggs, their drummer (RIP), jumped over the drum kit, went to the front of the stage, and flipped double rods to the crowd. It was one of the greatest live sets I've ever seen, and I became a big fan. The only band I ever saw open for the Ramones who held their own with them as a live act.

Note the "BAR" at right of stage. There was an identical one to the left of the stage, as well.

Everyone thinks Florida just be just next door to hell in the summertime but it's really not that bad most of the time. You got the ocean breeze effect here so the air is usually moving, especially in the evening and especially over on the island where the venue is. It was a nice evening all around, including the weather.
