I know there's been some funky and fugly Les Paul knock offs made over the years, including some of the 70s post lawsuit MIJ copies, Zack Wylde's namesake brand, and even some of the Norlin Gibsons themselves. In the past there has been plenty of good natured humoring over Agile's own stubby horn.

But for me, Eastwood's DEVO Whip It is the top of the heap in the hideous LP body shape category. If you can come up with a more ghastly LP knockoff horn I salute you. I mean a regular production guitar, not some crazy one-off that a demented luthier made in his workshop that has a horn resembling Rasputin's severed and embalmed phallus.

It's ergonomic, if by ergonomic you mean "it's jamming into my leg and causing nerve damage!"

It looks about on par with the Musicvox Space Ranger.

This is odd but not too bad looking. Can you name who it's associated with without looking it up?

Whereas the Eastwood DEVO Whip It looks limp, the Musicvox Space Ranger looks overly excited to see you.

I don't know if this qualifies as a Les Paul-type but to me this thing has always been hideous.

It's like a Les Paul, an Explorer, and a Flying V had an inbred love child. All it needs is an SG pickguard and it would be like all four siblings got in on the crossbreeding.

Being a DEVO fan I grew to appreciate Bob1's guitars (LaBaye, Ibanez Iceman, Spud). Fits the bands oddball personality. It does remind me of those cheap guitar lamps though.

To give an example of what I find to be an attractive, very original take on the Les Paul shape, I present this Grote. To me everything seems right, including the shape of the pickguard and knob placement. There is a unifying theme. It doesn't feel forced or deformed.
