Need suggestion on new headphone/practice amp
I had a VOX Lead headphone setup I used to practice with. It is no more. Looking for something I can practice on without disturbing anyone. I could get another VOX amplug 2, a Donner Mini Amp, or a Pocket POD. Any thoughts on these or other recommendations?? Thanks!
Those mini amplug amps generally don't sound great, but better than nothing. Look up the ammoon PockRock. Cheap and have decent reviews. No experience with them myself, but looks to be okay.
Another options is some of the multieffect pedals have headphone output. I have a Zoom pedal that does. It makes a decent practice headphone amp.

Mooer White Hornet (Vintage) or Mooer Black Hornet (Heavier Amp MOdels)
One of the neatest little practice amps I ever tried. I have the White version and love it !

I think I'm going to order one of these once they're available. Check out all the cool features.

I've got a Zoom G5 but thought that had to go into an amp. Maybe I need to see if that can go right to headphones, but i'd probably like something i could have on my guitar or belt clip. i'll do some more research on the pocket pod and nux might plug. thanks guys!!

I have the first generation of the Vox Mini3 for this purpose. Sounds pretty good for its size and has a headphone output. It has enough effects to cover all styles. G2 has more bass and probably sound a little bit better, but I never tested it.
Don't know your budget or space restrictions, but the katana looks like a killer practice amp, and a shit ton more, for like 200 used. I still want to hear about those new spark amps, too. They look like practice assets too
Katana 50w if you want to be able to get a zillion different tones for around $200. I've got the 100w and I love it.
Blackstar ID:Core 10 for super easy to use, no frills for less than $150 (on sale closer to $100). I've got this little amp and I've got zero complaints with it.

I have a G5 and it works with headphones. You may need to tweak all of your settings for patches though.tony1852 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:56 am I've got a Zoom G5 but thought that had to go into an amp. i keep hearing such good things about the katana. i really just need to probably go to GC and try one out. but what i am really looking for here is something more pocket size or headphones that i can plug in and play anywhere and no one can hear me. this is what i had before-just the Vox headphones.
the waza air is probably super-killer, but probably out of my spending desire right now

I always liked my vox da5 for that mini amp thing. For the pocket thing my pandora Px 5 or 4? Has tons of tones. Some of them decent. A lot better than the vox amplug. But its passable too for super simplicity. The used pandora can be a good cheap answer.

I can't speak to the headphones, but the Katanas I have tried were uniformly great. This generation's Peavey Bandit, and I mean that in a good way.

I just picked up a Boss GT-1 at a price I could
not pass up today. It sounds quite good after tweaking using my earbuds. Gonna try this for a while to see how it goes. The pre-sets are, let’s say, less than optimal. Quite easy to tweak to your liking, and I am a plug and play kinda guy.

Of course, I have zero experience with this thing, but I actually find it interesting, and close to what I would want for practicing or carry on.tony1852 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 8:28 am I had a VOX Lead headphone setup I used to practice with. I LOVE it. Much more versatile than any other one I’ve tried... and rechargeable!
