Hey, Mickey, watched two episodes today - when she´s crossing the Ecuador border into Comolbia, and the next one, now in Colombia. About her breakfast, definitely here in Venezuela I don´t think that having scrambled egss with rice AND potato is a common thing, maybe it is near the venezuela-colombian border. The fried thing I think it was something we call "torrejas", they can be sweet or not, and are made of wheat flour; if they´re of the sweet type, the cheese offers a nice contrast of flavours.mickey wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 12:38 pmWell, Sabas, if/when you get good enough internet to watch entire videos, I believe you will also become addicted.sabasgr68 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 7:43 pmI still haven´t seen her videos in full, but her enthusiasm is contagious, and Mickey is a big fan of her!mickey wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 5:32 pm
Jeff, I seriously doubt that you would want to be here with 100+ degree temps & 98% humidity, it isn't very nice!
This heat wave is a bitch!
As a biker, go on youtube & search for "itchy boots" and I'll bet you will get as addicted as I am!
(Brief history: Noraly is a lady from the Netherlands who was working on her PhD in Geology when she hit burnout & started traveling.
Some time later, in India she bought a bike and began seeing the world that way. At present she is in Mexico headed for the U.S.
She posts new videos every Monday, Wednesday & Friday @ about 11am your time.)
Seldom does one find a woman who likes to bike alone, perfers dirt to paved roads, is fluent in half dozen languages & bubbling over with enthusiasm as Noraly!
Now, I can understand being hooked with her - I mean, with her travelling videos -. I like the driving view position of the road, and it was nice to listen to her speaking spanish - quite good -. She´s a brave woman, no doubt, for doing it.

Anyone else been following 'Itchy Boots'? I got kind of hooked on it. I especially liked the episodes in Alaska. My daughter lived up there, so it was neat seeing some of the sights again.
Spoiler alert:
She finally made it all the way to Prudhoe Bay. The last episode, which is a longer episode summarizing the trip, is here:

I’ve just been breaking in my Dad skills, he’ll be 6 weeks old on Monday. The last day of my parental leave is tomorrow so I’ll be back at work, it’s basically chill season for my department though so I’ll more than likely just be riding around campus doing nothing and probably take my steam deck in to keep myself entertained.
Still trying to get the house settled and set up, but I emptied my storage unit the other day so I kinda took a few steps back in what progress I had made. But I check in and scroll through every now and then still, just not much time or content to post.
Really loving the Dad experience though so that’s been a great breath of fresh air.
Also been using what free time I can get to try and get up/keep up my chops on the guitar. Got my Bugera out of storage and made some noise with it the other day. Just kinda waiting for things to equalize so I can get back in the saddle of everything.
Anyway I do hope everyone’s doing as well as possible!

Well congrats. This age can be tough but enjoy the bits where they are. Really dig into the toddler times. Rhey are the best. It's the puppy age.LancerTheGreat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 8:49 pm I’ve just been breaking in my Dad skills, he’ll be 6 weeks old on Monday.
