Theyre coming to a local record store to do a signing of their new album. I bought 2 of each. I haven't spent $120 on cds and records in a while but am really excited to meet Mustaine and certainly don't mind paying a few extra bucks to get them signed.
I know the other guitar player, Kiko, but know nothing of the drummer and bassist. I'm wondering if I should only get Dave to sign everything? Who knows if these other 2 guys will be in the band much longer as his lineup changes every 5 years.
Also, I'm not a business anymore but was wondering if I should give him and the guitarist/Kiko a Buddha shirt (I still have ~30).

I just saw Dave wearing a Gibson t-shirt on the Joe Rogan show, and it seemed pretty obvious he was using the high profile exposure to do some advertising for big G. It would be super cool to see him wearing a Buddha t-shirt.

I watched a Rig Review for both Dave and Kiko. Based on that, it sounds like Dave had tons of modifications to his Flying V model...neck, pickups, electronics, scale length, frets, etc. It sounds like whatever he wants from Gibson, they're willing to make it happen. Whereas, Kiko sounds like he's playing a stock model, even though its technically his "signature" model.
If I had to guess, Kiko would wear your shirt He seems super cool.
Dave, you just never know. But if the latest album is any indication, he's angry again, as its really fast, aggressive, and angry...which makes it good one.

I’m really digging the album, already lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it lol.
Hope you have a good time at the meet n’ greet!
Now I gotta get a copy of the vinyl for my collection, I’d definitely be trying to get it signed by everyone if they’d just come anywhere nearby and do a signing.

I watched the rig rundown too. Kiko uses his signature Dimarzios. Dave said his signature pickup is a JB with a little more balls...maybe I could make him one of my own. I've got 2 albums and 2 cds to get signed. I got the album with all the extras and the Walmart exclusive. As far as the cds I got the Walmart exclusive and the indie exclusive.LancerTheGreat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 4:27 pm I’m really digging the album, already lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it lol.

I totally don't plan on selling anything but I saw the signed albums going for 250ish on ebay, crazy.

It doesn't make sense to avoid getting the other current members of the band to sign the album...they played on it and regardless of who he has in the lineup in the future that won't change.Buddha Pickups wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 3:37 pm Theyre coming to a local record store to do a signing of their new album. I hope given that this is a promotional event for an album your meeting Dave goes better than it did for me...I had the misfortune of meeting him for a few minutes back in 2006 or so and he was a ROYAL ahole. I've met a lot of well known metal musicians over the years and he was by far the absolute worst experience.
As for giving them shirts, they may accept them but they most likely won't/can't wear them in any public appearances because of their own pickup endorsements (Mustaine is with Duncan and Kiko with Dimarzio).

The drummer is Dirk Verbeuren. He played with a band called Soilwork. Excellent drummer, the guy is a machine but still has a lot of groove. Swedish Melodic Metal. Its really cool if you like that kind of thing. Good guitars and not too much screaming. Worth a listen. But yeah i agree with getting them all to sign the album as they all played on it. But in the end its up to you. Have fun and good luck!
Well, I happened to have $6.75 in digital credit from Amazon. So I got the album to listen to. Need to download add put it on CD for proper consumption cruising with my old 6 disc changer in the Benz.
Enjoying it the 1st couple passes through.

I will just get all of them. I wish it was Marty Friedman and Dave Elefson with him but I digress.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 11:30 pmIt doesn't make sense to avoid getting the other current members of the band to sign the album...they played on it and regardless of who he has in the lineup in the future that won't change.Buddha Pickups wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 3:37 pm Theyre coming to a local record store to do a signing of their new album. I've read he can certainly be an a hole.
I won't be bringing any shirts, that was a silly idea.
