Thanks, I forgot about that. It's tempting from a collectors perspective but the fact that they went for $25-$35 less than that new kind of gives cause for pause...

If it helps these typically sell around the $220-$250 mark, so at about $350 shipped this isn't exactly a dealRiverDog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:25 pm Someone buy this before I do! $299!!

Really? Wow I guess I haven't seen that. Or, I have [what seems like] many moons ago and now I'm completely jaded by what the musical instrument market has become.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:42 pmIf it helps these typically sell around the $220-$250 mark, so at about $360 shipped this isn't exactly a dealRiverDog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:25 pm Someone buy this before I do! $299!!

BTW, these guitars punch above their weight class IME.

Yeah the thing to remember about the market is that value is determined by SOLD listings, not just listings. If you go by some psycho Reverb seller's prices, the SX Furrian tele I have under the bed collectin' dust is worth like $700RiverDog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:49 pmReally? Of course. I just don't see enough SVKs on the market to gauge the value the way I do with other brands.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 11:40 pmYeah the thing to remember about the market is that value is determined by SOLD listings, not just listings. I have the blonde one; wish it had the maple fretboard.
With a new nut and pickups, I love it.
I'm considering buying the blue, switching necks and selling off the blue.

At that price, just keep the second one and put a set of pickups you've been curious about in either...

I ended up returning the blue Monoprice Indio tele.
The neck had a little twist to it.
Also, the tuners were really crappy compared to the Blonde one. The neck was unfinished bare wood, and both the neck and maple fretboard were really plain white wood, no character at all.
Even so, I would have kept it and swapped the necks like planned if it wasn't twisted.
Instead, I elected to keep the rosewood board neck and did a fret dresss / level job on it.

Fortunately, there are few if any deals on left-handed stuff. If I'd been born right-handed, I'd be broke and homeless, standing on the exit ramp of a major expressway holding a cardboard sign with "Will work for electric guitars" scrawled on it, my collection in a long train of shopping carts...
