Florida man uses elderly woman's credit card to buy 11 Gibson Les Pauls
By Sam Roche published 1 day ago

The guitars – and a host of other music equipment bought on the same card – are worth around $17,000 in total

Boy ..used to be a time when @tobijohn could just charm them into buying them

I didn't think you could find 11 Gibson LPs (with a host of other stuff) for a total of around $17k?!?

Wow, Guitar World seems to have taken over where National Enquirer left off. Lots of rumors and far fetched news.

"Gibson Les Pauls are hot property among those at odds with the law."

Well, well, well. Finally we see the implications that I've always had a hunch to be true.
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."

Same!

Fftt... I have about five yards of these things. Do you know how many LPs Joan Baez released?
The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

Not really. I was more of a Judy Collins fan. :D

My Joan Baez collection is recent, thrift, yard sales, town dump, etc.
She is a Mass. girl after all, the club where she first performed, in the People's Republic of Cambridge, is still going.
There is a PBS show about her Martin (now signature) guitar, has a funny twist.
I wonder if she ever played a Les Paul? :D

I think it's very true. When a FedEx driver stole a guitar instead of delivering it to me, it was in a Gibson box. My guess at the time was he thought he was stealing a LP.

11 gibsons for 17k? Was e bargain hunting used studio models? Maybe the woman should thank him for being such a fiscally responsible shopper?
