Ordered a Joyo Taichi pedal, arrived yesterday.
Was playing around with it running into my Soul Food and really liked the results, but that was through some headphones using my Lekato head phone amp or my Marshall AVT20 on the clean channel.
It is amazing how individually very little gain on each pedal turns into so much more when you stack them. Really liked the boost of the Taichi which I believe is sort of a faux Zendrive from the reviews I read.
The mood lighting is kind of interesting, sort of like a cheap RGB setup on a computer.
Additional feedback:
Got some time with it in front of the DSL5CR on the clean channel and was really enjoying it as a clean boost in front of the Soul Food some more.
Need to pull the rest of my pedals out of storage to see how it stacks up to my Boss SD-1, but I think it is something different and got me playing more than I have in probably a month so it was worth it just for a little inspiration.

Got my Positive Grid Riff today and it's going back. They talked a good game, but the 0 latency is non existence. Tried all the buffers sizes, tried using ASIO4All, Windows Audio, & default. The tuner (in FX2) is a joke & difficult to tune as it wouldn't land on 0 cents or close to it. It would either go flat or sharp with very little turn of the tuner. I'm talking a RCH.
Just for an interface with "trial software". You're better off with Behringer interface with Reaper DAW. I wouldn't pay the full retail price for this.. even the introductory price isn't worth it.

Didn't work out that way unfortunately, going to be returning it. Doesn't stay in tune properly and it's in a bit worse shape than I expected...plus the body turned out to be ply which I'm really not into. My GC Used record still stands at about 50+ scores to 3 losses though, and even those 3 aren't really losses since you get a full refund...so not badPsychoCid wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 4:53 pmWoooow score.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:31 pm Been kinda passively on the hunt for a cool tele to add to the stable...came across this rare bird for just over $200 and jumped on it. These were made in the Fujigen factory in the early to mid 1970s and imported by an ex-Fender employee. Not a ton of information on 'em, but given that this is GC it's a risk-free purchase so we'll see if it's a score. Nearly 50 year old Tele for this price with some mojo, could be a hit!
Also just nabbed a neat (but much more modern) replacement tele...so we'll see how that one looks in a few days.

Got this for quiet jamming. Each person can hook their modeler/e-drums in and create their own mix. Hopefully this solves the quiet jamming problem.

I reallllly have to stop buyin' guitars, but I can't resist these Harley Benton Dullahan headless models when one pops up at GC for a nice price...so got this on the way to join its shell pink Dullahan sibling. Guess I'll just have to keep it in an alternate tuning to justify owning both.

If the replacement Tele doesn’t work out I have a 1987 MIK Squier that I’m selling.slowhand84 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:27 pmDidn't work out that way unfortunately, going to be returning it. Picked this up this weekend! Still messing around with it to learn its ins and outs. So far I can say the clean channel crunches up real nicely, the reverb is meh, and the character of the amp really depends on whether you're pushing the power section or not - which at 15 watts is definitely realistic in a band context. I also like the fact that it's about 3/4 the size and half the weight of my CR120. This is also perhaps the first amp I've ever owned where I felt like channel switching might actually be a useful feature for me.
Picked up one of these, because I have both a Flying V and a Firebird, and the hard cases for them are such battleships that they're a pain in the butt to take anywhere. I can say that this is plenty big for the Firebird, and should be OK for the V although I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet. It's not extremely heavy duty, but I doubt you'll find another multipurpose "extreme" bag for the price, and it is definitely better than some of the "garbage bag with zipper" bags that I've seen.
ADDENDUM: Good news - it does fit the Flying V, although it's a little tight.

Not exactly my acquisitions, but my 8 year old sons. We recently got a mid 90s miniature fender telecaster, made in Japan and sold only on the Japanese market. The Scale length is just 18 3/4” !! It needed a little tune up and the neck pickup was mostly dead but I’m working on fixing that too.
The other purchase is one my son negotiated today while I was playing a guitar. He talked the sales person down on this Yamaha dtx kit. 35% off everything (pretty much got it at dealer cost) lol . And a simmons speaker to go with it. Payed with his savings (approved ).
I need to let him buy me another guitar amp Next time

It was my birthday yesterday and I figured it’s not the worst time in the world to get an ok-sounding solid state amp so picked up this old Roland Blues Cube BC30 on the local market. It’s an older one with no onboard reverb or power scaling or anything but first impressions on the tones are good for what I like to play.

Nice score @voodoorat I went SS recently myself with a Boss Kantana 50 and it also sounds great.

I think frets are gear.

I think my bassist has one of these, or at least something very similar. I'll have to ask him to demo it some time, because it does look like a pretty useful piece of gear.Rollin Hand wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:29 pmSpectacularly.
