I cannot, but it's nice to see fellow vinyl junkies up in here! I just passed the 1,000 mark recently...and now my company has rolled out a rewards thing for employees where you get "points" (I can give them to my employees, employees can give them to managers, managers can give them to each other, etc) and once you've accumulated a certain amount you can then redeem those points for gift cards. Sorta like how it is at carnivals with tickets and prizes, but instead of pencil toppers you get actual money.

Needless to say I imagine I'll be hitting the 2,000 mark in no time

Journey's Departure was one of the first records I ever bought, and I backtracked through their catalog from there. If you don't already own the live double album Captured released immediately after the Departure tour, I highly suggest that you seek it out. It's basically the best of Infinity, Evolution, and Departure performed live, along with a single studio track "The Parties Over".

Hint for the top album: It's his name. It was self titled. Top 25 billboard song of the era.

He's also written songs for the likes of Bon Jovi, Blue Oyster Cult, and even Celine Dion.

It's quite fantastic.

Departure is arguably their best album ever. Most would point to Escape, but I've soured on the Cain years a lot. Departure was the culmination of the Gregg Rolie years. They were at the height of their musical power, and it showed in their live shows, as recorded on Captured.

And on topic, I've got Infinity through Raised on Radio on vinyl as well...nothing to play them on, but I've got them stored away

It was a lineup of Eddie Money, Cheap Trick, Yes, and Journey

From the nose bleeds you could almost believe it was Steve Perry, but I knew better even though I had no idea he'd left the band until that show

A majority of the crowd left after Yes. Because, obviously, it's a really dumb idea to put Yes on BEFORE Journey. Journey couldn't compete with Rick Wakeman.

Augeri had a pretty good voice, but having to sing those songs every few days just wrecked it. Steve Perry is somewhat of an enigma, but in my opinion, he had the greatest voice in rock music. Range, power, delivery, presence (well, in the later days, anyway lol) - the guy had it all, but also had LSD pretty bad as well. I think if he wasn't such a control freak, and most importantly, forced the band to give him rest in between shows, he'd still have that voice today. I saw them in 83 on the Frontiers tour at the Forum in LA, and he did 4 shows in 5 nights as I recall. I don't know how any vocalist can survive that, let alone singing those songs at his level. And he was perfect at the show I went to...

Nice shirt too. Interesting match with the full ZZ top beard.

We'll see if I manage to grow my hair out again. Beard usually kepts short, as I cut it once or twice a week.
