Hey Guys!
LOOOOONNNGGG time no see I know.
A LOT has gone on since I was last here. It's honestly way too much and too long to type, it'd be a long boring tome to read.
Few highlights maybe.
Changed jobs under a VERY ugly set of circumstances back in the summer. Landed on my feet and then some thankfully. I'm a CISO at a financial services firm now and I've actually achieved some work/life balance after I don't know how long. SO glad to be away from that incredibly toxic environment that I seemed to have gotten used to (and needed to detox from believe it or not).
Recovered TWICE from 2 different COVID variants, the second one felt like it was gonna kill me. 24 hours of it was REALLY bad - Mrs. RedLesPaul was pretty worried. It stole my voice, couldn't even speak let alone sing for quite a while. I was pretty scared there for a bit that I wouldn't be able to sing again.
Once I felt normal again I felt that I had to at least try to sing something, so I did. Below are a few covers I'd done within the past couple of weeks or so.
Hope everyone is safe and well.
Cheers!

You don't need a Facebook account to play the videos.
"Preaching the End of the World" - Chris Cornell cover
"Down In a Hole" - Alice In Chains cover
"Black Hole Sun" - Soundgarden cover
And I can't remember if I ever shared these two with y'all before. Mark and I did these a while back before all of the drama.
"I Will Remember" - Queensryche cover
"Planet Caravan" - Black Sabbath cover
I have some more recent ones too, but I can't attach MP3 files here that I can tell and I'm pretty much out of Soundcloud storage.

Holy schnikes, the retro gang is coming out of the woodwork.
Good to see you back RLP, and especially glad things are going better.

HEY! Welcome back Mr. Red. PsychoCid and you returning the same week - who's next? Glad you made it through both the job ringer and Covid - I lost my job mid pandemic and have recently landed in a role that is very promising too - congrats on finding something that works for you.
Some great choices for covers, I think Black Sabbath is probably my favorite. All played on the redl LP studio?

All we need is a BPD appearance and it'll be just like old times.

Wow.
I'll always have an affinity for AnC. Strong work. The gritty slide around 2:45 was a nice touch. I dunno why that struck me. Just did.

I was thinking a few weeks ago that RLP had cashed in some exotic new currency and bought a far-away island!
Good on health recovery. Stay on it.
How about Mrs RLP?
She had some worries on her mind at a time. I recall.

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

Good to have you back rlp. You know you can just drop by anytime. You didn't need to bring presents but as long as you did I sure did enjoy them. It's so nice to hear good covers of songs I love. That's balls out taking on AnC and SG when trying to recover your voice but great work. And the QR? Holy crap! That fits your voiceto a T. And all the production and guitar work too? Just outstanding. We missed you and your talent here. Good to see you made it through and doing well.
