Silk Röad - "Diamond Dave" (working title)

@toomanycats

This one never got lyrics, bro. I think it's your turn. Not that I'd have half a chance in hell of finding the original mix data...but, have at it (!!?)

:P :twisted: :?:

That's an interesting sounding tone for the main guitar riff, do you remember what amp you were using for that?

Yessir, that's a 5150 inside a sound proofed closet!

It's the slow phaser that gives it that sweet purr too.

There are moments in there that give have the feeling of the "Jump" outro.

Can I assume you were outside the closet when playing? :-) I can't imagine how loud it would be inside there with a 5150 turned up even a little...

Lol yes. Ran the cord under the door, so we were a good 15-20 ft away.

Come to think of it Thrasher from Escape the Fate is the one who ended up cutting that little solo. What I actually play there is completely different.

Now that I'm in the headspace I remember the song actually picks up tempo like 5bpm or something after that part too

Remembering back in the day

Even in the sound proofed closet, I doubt the 5150 was any higher than "3" volume. Lol.

So are you proposing I come up with lyrics for this one? Wow man, an opportunity to be inside Dave's head. Let me try to remember everything I can about Stanislavski and the Method.

This was a close as I came! Not a half bad attempt, I thought.

This is the one where Thrasher did the solo though.

Sad because his first solo take was DEAD ON Van Halen. But he and Ahmad were like no that's not it, and hit delete before I could stop them. So we came out with this one.
