Not bad for a hardtail Strat-alike with actives. Plus shipping et al, of course.

It's even better in US dollars, rather than your funny Canadian currency :)

But I tried to checkout to see shipping cost, and got this:
"Unfortunately we cannot currently offer delivery for this address"

I tried it with another guitar, and that would let me ship. They used to not ship guitars with rosewood because of CITES. Not sure if that's still the case, or if this guitar has any rosewood or it was marked wrong.

I saw this on GuitarWorld.com today for the first time, so it's possible they just don't have a lot yet.

They have it, they're just not willing to ship it to the US. They are willing to send it to Canada though.
Probably just weirdly labeled in their ordering system.

$120 + $81 shipping for me. If I were looking to add another guitar, I'd probably do it.

Not quite. I have enough Strats and similar.

And I barely get to play what I have!

Has the shipping gone up a LOT, or is it me?
I almost bought from HB a few times but didnt, I dont recall why.
I know they get mostly good reviews here.

Anyone have experience with their set neck Vee types?

I have one of those Vs with a different headstock. It's very light. It plays very nice. The block inlays weren't centered between the frets, that was the only "bad" thing that I have with it. It's a cheaper build, but not bad.

It has for sure gone up. I think it is now like $80 each guitar I try recently (goes down $4 to $77 if I put two electrics in my cart...) Was ~$60-65 most of last year with UPS.

I have seen shipping costs have risen the last several years.
Wasn't it around $30. just a few, maybe 2 or 3 years ago?
If so, thats a Huge bit of inflation.

used to be a flat rate up to a certain amount was 35 Euro, DHL handing off to USPS and it took about 2 weeks. They changed it a couple years ago to actual rate, UPS 2nd day air, skips customs and comes straight to you.

They were probably taking it on the chin at the flat rate which included things like 2x12 cabinets. They also used to sell MIJ Fender and even Gibson to the US at rates unmatched anywhere in the world. Really upset now that they stopped allowing them after the whole CITES crap and guessing Fender didn't like the MIJ stuff making it to US to compete against MIM and MIA...

I've probably bought about a dozen HBs in the last couple years and have been shocked by how good the build quality has been on them. It wasn't bad before but the ones coming out of Indonesia are outstanding. I do miss the flat rate shipping but don't mind paying the increase to get them here in a couple days and out of the hands of USPS (nothing but problems with the local one for just about as long as I've lived down here). My most recent order was a couple months ago and I think the shipping cost around $75 for two guitars...

Yep, ocean shipping costs increased something like 120% last year

Air and ground have gone up significantly but not as much

Hold on to your shorts though, we'll see what happens this year
