Started messing with the kemper to get close to some of Satch's patches. Definitely think I got close but need to work through some of the lead patches still.
Nothing terribly complex about this one, but, its all kemper and parallaxe for the bass.

I used the closest thing I have to a JS which is my JP100 and the Yamaha bass for the lows. Hope you guys like it. I did try and stay blusier with less widdly widdly stuff so its not a total shred fest.

Those lead tones are killer, and do sound a lot like Satch stuff I've heard. How much tweaking did you do to the Kemper to get to that point? I'm so lazy when it comes to tweaking; I usually end up just picking a profile I like, and playing. There's one profile called JP something that sounds a lot like John Petrucci's typical rig, I like that one a lot for prog/metal type stuff, but if I'm actually practicing, I try to use something very clean so I can hear what I'm doing wrong :-)

I did a bit to be honest. I ended up using a mesa boogie which sounded a bit better to my ear then tweaked a little bit with EQ and cab towards the end.

It sounds great. Not quite thin enough to sound just like Satch (I suspect it's the Mesa model), so it sounds spectacular! And you really sound like Satch in the solo at around the 4 min mark.

I might be the only one that thinks Joe's best tones were on "Satch Boogie" and "Friends."

Yeah I agree. I fight with the Marshall model because it’s too harsh/squishy to my ears. I got a more accurate one in the works.
As crazy as this sounds I think his best tone was on the album “Joe Satriani”. But it’s tough because Joe seems to shape his tone for every song which is awesome but tough to emulate.

Sounds great as usual! Off topic, but have you been playing around with the new FW versions on the Axe FX III? I think the updates really make the unit sound even better!
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.

I don’t have the Axefx 3, I have the 2 xl+. I don’t think I’ll get the 3 though. As good as it is I’d probably go with a quad cortex later this year.
