I´ve been chewing for a while if posting this or not, finally decided to do it.

I´m coming here with a simple request: can any of you offer me an online remote job, something to grant a stable income? That´s what I´m looking for: a steady and greater income ($500-600/month would be great to start).

Whether you have your own company and may need someone, or you know that the company you´re working for has some job opportunities available, or you know somebody who may have one to offer, I´d like to hear about it.

In order to keep privacy and relevant info not openly public to third eyes - not AGF eyes -, contact me via PM if you think you can have something, and we´ll discuss the details. I´m not particularly skilled at anything, and I´m willing to learn. Off the top of my head it could be something like data entry job, or a virtual assistant job, considering I´d need some kind of training, but could not necessarily be limited to those two options.

Thanks so much for reading, and more if you have something.

It´s not necessary to respond here.

I am sorry that I dont, Sabas.
Have you thought of writing about Venezuela for a publisher, or reporting,.. perhaps for a foreign or international newsfeed company?
I'm just trying to think of the offerings your unique position contains.
I sure hope something turns up.

Hey Sabas - having been through a lot of job searching/interviewing/etc over the past 18 months I can offer a bit of experience/advice if you like.

First off, reaching out here is a great idea. If you (or anyone) waits until a job is posted on linkedin/ziprecruiter or a company's own website it's already halfway too late. Most good opportunities seem to come when you least expect them and in places you least expect to find them. I have transitioned through 3 different roles since August of 2020 and in every case they started out as opportunities that found me vs. me seeking them. Not to say that you shouldn't still used Linkedin and places like that because they are still really good sources to get info, but more importantly places to make connections.

Secondly as it pertains to remote work, I think there is an added level of scrutiny placed on remote workers - new hires especially. Even though working from home was forced on a lot of people in the past year, it is viewed as an additional benefit by most. Having been a supervisor of remote workers for many years, there is a level of trust that needs to be established that is even more difficult to do remotely. Anything you can provide to quantify your ability to work remotely in a trusting fashion is a big plus.

Data Entry and other basic IT tasks have been done remotely for decades, so the precedent is there. Any experience you have in that are you should quantify - even things like Spreadsheet/Database skills or training courses you have taken are a plus. There is a ton of free learning available out there on places like Coursera and even via some of the larger manufacturers ( Microsoft, AWS, etc ). Setting up a linkedin profile and adding those achievements can really help. Another thing I just thought of was that I remember you setting up a website/store to purchase some items in the past if I am not mistaken? ( coffee cups/shirts etc? with guitar related items )? While it may seem small you could easily build that into a marketable skill/project on your resume.

Bottom line, you seem like a very trustworthy and hardworking person based on your presence here on AGF over the years, and If I were in a position to steer you towards an actual job opening I would just based on that, but currently I am not as I just transitioned careers.

Hey, Scott, thanks. I appreciate your insight and words. Maybe it is a long shot, but I figured I could start searching for opportunities here in our forum.

I will take account of your observations, based on your own experience.

Yeah, you remember well, it´s a print on demand store, good memory.

Thanks again for your kind words; I´ll appreciate if you keep your eyes and ears open all the same.

Based on your English skills, translation seems to be a possibility.

@sabasgr68 I haven't worked since my accident in 2011 so I have no contacts or influence with potential employers. I can offer how I overcome my financial short comings. In 2013 I found myself separated from my wife of 32 years and that she had hidden all our assets very well to a point me or my lawyer couldn't find them, so I was on my own with only an SSI check for income. It was only enough to barely get by and no extra's at all and lots of bologna sandwiches and Ramen Noodles. I started to think of anything I could possibly make money doing from my wheelchair. Now I had done setups and mods for friends' as well as my own guitars for years. I had all the tools I needed so I put a flyer up everywhere I could offering my services. I undercut everyone else's prices and it wasn't long the business started coming in and all cash. Fast forward to today I have a waiting list for my repairs it's only about 9 days, but I now have enough to live and enjoy extras including new guitars occasionally.
So look deep into your knowledge and skill set to see all you have to offer you may come up with something like I did that will change your life.
Very best of luck my friend you have a lot of good people in your corner.

 Thanks.
Yeah, I´ve tried that (English to Spanish), spreading the word among my contacts and social media and some pages in the web. Hasn´t gone well so far.

Thanks, Randy.

You´re a testament of perseverance and good attitude. I´m doing it, trying to find the hidden potential. I´m not a professional at it, but I´m good - to some extent - with Spainsh grammar, ortography and punctuation. I´ve offered to correct texts and the such. I´ve even wrote a basic guitar course for beginners (in Spanish) that I´m about to make available on the net, I´m ultimating details on that regard. Maybe I´m not that good of a business man - I know I´m not -.

I´m aiming at any income coming from the outside, there´s no way any person or company here in my country could pay more than $150/month in most jobs, or at least, not for the job I could do.

But hope is the last thing to lose.
