You know...I've been gassing for a resonator (yeah I know about intonation issues) and also want to try my hand at the Ukelele..

I don't know. Reminds me of the time I thought it would be a good idea to learn to play fretless guitar, but I made the mistake of buying one with a Floyd Rose. The learning curve wasn't just steep, it was damn near vertical. I might as well have taken up accordion.

Yeah..head already spinning with Seprano, Concert, Tenor and Baritone variants and so many different tunings I may just get a regular resonator as I really enjoy playing open G blues anyway.toomanycats wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 6:14 am I don't know. I’m learning ukulele with my son right now. I have a Fender Play subscription that makes learning really easy. The standard tuning provides familiar grounds for scale work (with the top 3 strings). The type of uke (soprano, tenor, concert etc), really only matters for the scale length and comfort, although I’m sure the loudness and tone of the instrument will be altered. The tuning is still the same.
I’ve been lusting for a fender ukulele which look like miniature fender guitars (strat, tele, and jazzmaster). But I also dream of a full electric solid body uke like the ones made by Fanner in South Africa.

I bought a UKE from Rondo a couple of years ago for a grandson at Christmas it was on sale so I bought about 6 weeks before Christmas to get the sale price. I had to go online to find how to tune it I found there were several different ways to tune the thing. I played with until Christmas and then gave Jasper a used uke.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind having one to play around with but a better quality if memory serves me right it was normally $59 and I paid $39 or something like that.

I love this guy and is probably the reason I'll get a Baritone uke someday

I have three ukes, a soprano, a concert and a tenor. Never have wanted a baritone because then it sounds more like my nylon string classical than a typical uke tone. Ukes are really fun (and really portable).
Another thing I have and really like is a very nice acoustic tenor guitar. (yet one more tuning to learn, but fun and sounds good).
