I was talking about it with spouse, and said 100,000 people have worked on this project. She did not believe that. Any way to estimate how many were involved, from concept, to manufacturing to testing, to launch, and monitor for the life of the system?

Update: Today's (Wednesday) work was to raise telescope mirror assembly - 6+ hours) to allow for the heat shied material to unfold, later. All operations from now on are human-directed.

Also, real-time temperature readings are posted, for the "cold" and "hot" sides. The figures for the hot side makes you appreciate how our own atmosphere shields us from this (I think?).

All deployments seem to be going well.

There is a NASA rendering of the internal light paths within the instrumentation that is a thing to see, split beams mirrors, it goes on. I assume this gets calibrated on the go?
