I wanted to let everyone know that if you need to replace an exact copy Fender headstock decal and don't want to go through the Fender USA hoopla and wait, this guy on Etsy makes perfect replicas from Poland:

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1089155 ... t_relevant

I had a friend mask over his headstock and when I removed the tape, it took the decal with it (old school Fenders did not seal the decals under the finish). This is n expensive Eric Johnson model strat, which I was refinishing the back of the neck at his request.

I compared the forgery decals to my 1996 USA Strat and the watermark on the EJ headstock, left by the decal and they are identical. For about $12 and a 4 week wait, I got 3 waterslide decals, like the originals. Whew - happy camper.

I don't have any need for this information now but I will file it. I do wonder if he also does custom decals and want to make sure that @Mossman sees this.

These were from Etsy also, might have even been the same place. One of those sellers on there has a website with about 500 different versions, if i can find it again i will repost.

For Fender and other name-brand decals, there's plenty of guys in the US who do that. It's harder finding someone to do custom decals who actually give two shits about replicating your logo the way you want it.

I ended up having decals for the Solaris made by this guy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/StringKraft

He was very attentive and followed my instructions to the letter, but he hand-paints the metallic ink onto the decal. It looks good, but I think I would prefer to have it printed for a smoother appearance. It might not matter after I spray poly over it, though... We'll see.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!

I got mine for a 1983 MIJ Squier from here: http://www.croxguitars.com/decjapmex.htm Someone previously removed the Squier part of the logo.
