Well, dare I ask???

Did anyone attempt the 2021 Mystery Stocking today?

I had forgotten all about it and got the email this morning. I haven't tried the last 2 years so I thought, what the heck. I was able to get one. Not expecting much based on the last 3 i bought...

Against my better judgement, I submitted a form which brought up payment info. I entered my Discover card, the the 3 digit code, and clicked enter which brought up an error message. As far as I got. It would not let me renenter the credit card info even though all the original information was correct. I gather they sold out in less than 5 mintues.

I've never heard anything good about them, thus I never bothered.

I haven’t had much luck in the past either. Usually a box of stickers, picks, adult small t-shirts and such.

Seems I don’t learn from the past.

I still buy lotto tickets on occasion too. :)

Probably just as well I didn't even realize it was on until I read this thread, or otherwise I might have tried and been frustrated again.

Gearlist: A few LP's, a Strat, a Tele and a few acoustics.

I just chose to send my Christmas donation to Scott Grove instead. He actually has a Donate button on his website, but not linking here due to previous douchbaggery.

Oh my, when will I EVER learn???

I got a Gibson beanie, Dunlop strap, short gold plated input jack and a small multi-tool.

Sent the strap to TVVoodoo and have him convert it to an awesome wide and padded strap.

There's a thread on the mystery stocking going on TGP too. They call what you received the 'box of sad.' The overwhelming majority of buyers got the exact same box you did (some got white beanies).

I've never subscribed to Premier Guitar but I read the articles and watch their vids and stuff quite a bit. I've never done the mystery stocking, but if I did I would probably try to convince myself that I'm just paying PG for all the content I've used but never paid for. Whatever comes in the box would be a nice bonus.

Let me guess where the Gibson beanie is made? I gave up on those surprise boxes after trying once. I really don't need anymore size 13-56 electric guitar strings and have enough stickers. I did get some patch cables though.

At least the beanie and multi-tool are useful.
I usually wear some kind of hat since I lack any natural insulating coverage.

Is the logo "Gibson USA"?
Maybe it should be labeled "Epiphone".

That is one ugly strap. For some reason it reminds me of The Archies.
