I got a new kitty. Calling her slappy. But unofficially its kitdiot. Kiddiot? Kitiot? Anyway shes a sweetie but like my guitars I hate plain black. She plays like a maniac but never bites hard or uses claws. The dogs hate her but she thinks they are interesting. She will lay on her back , stretch and then touch or slap their face

I went on a buying spree shortly before I went on staycation last month. In reverse order:
I received this Firefly FF338 just before the last weekend of staycation. I pressed a few frets level, dressed the fret ends and bone nut. I installed a set of Gotoh Tuners, a set of Giovanni GVH-1 Humbuckers and a full '50's style wiring. It sounds great, plays really good and was inexpensive. I received this Donner DPB-510B P Bass copy and (not pictured) an Ashdown Studio 8 Bass amp. I'm surprised at the quality of the bass. The only thing I see doing to it is upgrading the pups. Not that they are bad, actually they are quite good, I just want something a little hotter, but not active. The Studio 8 I got on sale for $99.99, at the time (just over a month ago) was $164.99. After the sale it jumped to $199.99. A short while later it went to $209.99 and now is $219.99! I guess I got it at the opportune time! I was reading up on this one nd just happened to check Reverb just after it was price dropped to a reasonable price, so I bit!
It's a 1966 Gibson GA-20RVT. It works, but I don't trust it with the hum. I'll be working on it after I fix another project. "Daddy, why you git this? You could git mees more food!"
This I picked up a couple months ago. A 1964/65 Supro Combo Tremolo 1697T/S6497. It's an amp I've been after for a while, but it seemed like it would never happen. After several years it finally came into my hands. It obviously was worked on by a hack, as there have been some incorrect components and hack wiring, mostly in the power section/lower chassis. The PT was burnt out and had broken leads. I got one of the remaining Classic Tone NOS PTs (same as the Thunderbolt) and got it most of the way wired up. Since there is no schematic available (that I've been able to find), I'm drawing one up. The power primary side is almost identical to the tube rectified Thunderbolt. I should start a thread in the Projects forum for this amp. Upper chassis Lower chassis inside, with new PT partially wired.

I took a year off of guitar and am regrouping. Lessons with teacher not pictured. The guitar is an Eastman T486. Love it. Everything else is for fun. The BB is damn tasty.

I picked up one of these locally from someone I've traded guitars with and bought rack gear from locally. It needs to get setup. Generally this isn't the style of guitar I play. I prefer simpler trem systems and always having a neck pickup but I could argue with the reasonable price he gave me and I expect I may buy a few more pieces of gear from him in the future.

I bought a new guitar coz I like the finish, and I wanted it.
I've been wanting a beater guitar for carrying to the beach and/or the mountains. The electrics are too much hassle,
and my Taylor is too expensive .....and I've just been wanting a guitar....LOL. So... I ordered me a Washburn Bella Toro
Nova s9 today that should fill the bill and not break the bank if anything happens to it. Sitka top, and mahog back
and side. Bone nut and saddle, Lotus flower markers, Trans-charcoal in color. Plus I talked them into a $50 discount
coz I'm so sweet..... Once I finish the final setup it'll be good to go.

I bought a new amp because it is way too loud, I liked the tones, and I wanted it.Perfect Stranger wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 8:25 am I bought a new guitar coz I like the finish, and I wanted it.
1980 Hamer Special. Picked it up from Mike who I buy a lot of gear from. I'm a bit confused about Reverb prices for these but it seems to be within the low end of average of what these can go for and honestly plays well as CS Gibsons I've bought from Mike.
First Bass!
Found a local CL beater.
looked it over, neck is straight.
Further inspection at home:
Pots are shot, even after some Fader Lube. I have spares.
Headstock has a crack repair along the tuners.
Glue seems solid.
Not upset, the price was right.
Pickups are Dimarzio!
Plugged it in, it works.
New strings ordered.
Cant wait to get started.

A Recording King Dirty 30's resonator with pickup
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."
I just picked up something similar myself, not as rich a provenance but a 2002-ish Hamer SATF ... no full body pics yet but it's pretty much this one...
Just a bit more orange burst on the edges.
I have a set of double cremes I'm thinking of dropping in, but I dig your zebra... it has Duncan Designeds in, which aren't bad but I dont care for fancy covers

My latest is actually this pine body telecaster with a thin skin nitro that I've put together. I love this stupid thing and if you look at the combination of finish and super soft wood, it's already starting to relic itself naturally!
My latest full guitar is actually quite a bit cork sniffery... but there's a story. My first nice guitar was a quilt top cherry sunburst Agile AL2800DLX with the correct shape back in the Rondomusic.bigstep.com days. I do own that guitar again after a long delay... but I finally got a quilt top cherry Gibson Les Paul that inspired that original purchase.

Both very nice looking guitars and nice to see you again! I was just thinking, where the heck is @NickintheStates with all this tube amp discussion going on?NickintheStates wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 8:13 am My latest is actually this pine body telecaster with a thin skin nitro that I've put together.
