While not being super-stoked with what I could custom order in the perfect guitar, my hunt kept flashing me back to an off-the-shelf guitar I liked but did not go for. So taking another look at the Rivolta Combinata made me submit an offer for a preorder. I like it a bit more than the customs I had been pricing, and I would be paying a ton less. So when the shop sent a counter offer for barely more than my offer, I had to get out one of my Italia guitars and play it a while (it and the Rivolta are highly influenced by both Italian design and Rickenbacker). Having a lot of fun with the Maranello, I decided to accept the counter on the Rivolta. So I am not sure when, but I have something on its way that will look a lot like this (but lefty):

What's not to love - offset, P90s, maple top, ebony fretboard, hollow mahogany body and a Duesenberg trem. Delicious.

Well that didn't last long. On ordering, they charged me and said it would ship by the end of November. I was ok with that. I just got a Reverb message saying it would be delayed until at least the end of April. I am not ok with them holding my money that long (and probably getting another delay later), so I told them to cancel. That's ok, I have other guitars I really like.

i like that.
"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted."

Well crud. There was one on GC Used in Excellent condition for $800 for maybe a couple of hours before someone snatched it up. It was gone before I woke up this morning.

I've heard these are made in the same factory as Reverend and Dusenberg (Mirr). So certainly that's something to look forward to.
