So I rolled the dice on a cymbal that was listed as a Zildjian zbt 20" ride but a Zildjian 20" A rock ride was pictured. I unfortunately received the cheap beginner zbt ride though that I have no intention of keeping let alone paying the $80 shipped for it.
I successfully did this recently on another cymbal recently that was listed as an A but a K custom was pictured and I received what was pictured.
My question is should I be pushing to get my shipping money back too? It was listed correctly but not pictured correctly. It's only $20 but not sure how much I should fight with them if need be.
Luckily I saved the picture with the item number as of course it disappeared shortly after I ordered.

the picture is a significant part of their description, IMO.
Visual misrepresentation, should get all your money back, IMO.

Yup, get your shipping charge back too.
This happens a lot on GC Used. I don't think they'll give you any static... They should be used to it. I've gotten the wrong thing even when the picture and description matched up.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!

100% you should get shipping back, what was pictured isn't what was received.

Yes, the shipping should be refunded too. An inconsistency in the listing is sufficient cause.

All good
I had to get a manager to approve the shipping charge return but they didn't give me a hard time

Yeah that's how it works there, they're supposed to give a full refund including the shipping charge if its not just a case of you returning the item because you "didn't like it" but rather a case of "there's something wrong with it / it's not as described". They rarely give anyone a hard time about it, but it does require a manager's approval. Small price to pay for the myriad of steals to be foundBuddha Pickups wrote: βFri Sep 17, 2021 5:39 pm All good

I've not scored the dozens of guitar deals you have but I have scored about 30 great cymbals, all for under 100ea...I was telling the guy today some of the cymbals I've scored for under 100 and I could tell he didn't believe me.slowhand84 wrote: βFri Sep 17, 2021 8:44 pmYeah that's how it works there, they're supposed to give a full refund including the shipping charge if its not just a case of you returning the item because you "didn't like it" but rather a case of "there's something wrong with it / it's not as described". I hear you haha, I was at GC the other day trying out a pedal with one of my custom guitars (about a $2K build that I scored for $300). The current manager there is a friend of mine, he was checking out the guitar and was shocked to learn I bought it from his very store a couple years ago before he worked there . That was actually the first and only time I had a score like that at my local GC.Buddha Pickups wrote: βFri Sep 17, 2021 9:24 pmI've not scored the dozens of guitar deals you have but I have scored about 30 great cymbals, all for under 100ea...I was telling the guy today some of the cymbals I've scored for under 100 and I could tell he didn't believe me.slowhand84 wrote: βFri Sep 17, 2021 8:44 pmYeah that's how it works there, they're supposed to give a full refund including the shipping charge if its not just a case of you returning the item because you "didn't like it" but rather a case of "there's something wrong with it / it's not as described". Speaking of Guitar Center, here's a really super deal at GC! A used Marshall 2525H Mini Silver Jubilee for only $1700!
Oh, wait, I mean "here's a really stupid deal", because a new 2525H costs $200 less. With salesmanship like that, I can't imagine why they're always going out of business.

The store I returned it to relisted it with the same picture again....lol
They never change pictures or condition on any returns I've made either. Even those with serious issues like a cracked body and non-working electronics that were literally held together with electrical tape...

I just returned something to GC three days ago that was literally non-functioning, like cannot be fixed broken. It's back up on their site in excellent condition and ready to become someone else's problem . They just pass the buck to another store, someone orders it online, then returns it at their local store, then it becomes that store's burden.

Yeah. I've returned more than a couple of things with undisclosed problems and they just don't change anything when they relist them. I tried to ask why they do that and they make stupid excuses or just clam up. They do not care.

Yep, and I don't even blame them given what they're paid. These associates make $8-$10 an hour on average. There is nothing from corporate in place to prevent this kind of behavior so obviously it just continues.BatUtilityBelt wrote: βSun Sep 19, 2021 12:19 am Yeah. On the plus side as I've said many times before this same level of not caring is what allows for the insane steals GC frequently has. If they hired knowledgeable caring salespeople who really knew the products, I wouldn't own 75% of what I own
