I've got a good job, and 'could' (maybe if I was single) justify it cash wise, but I can't even play Stairway, so I'm done for because my brain screams at me every time I get close to hitting the button

Mine doesn't exist. It is a 2 piece top tobacco burst Gibson Les Paul Custom with ebony fretboard, volute, flip-out tuners, slightly chunky neck with P90s and never a pick guard.

You Learn Something New Every Day: today I learned about "flip-out tuners". I honestly don't think I have ever seen those before. I take it you've tried them and liked them?

LOL, I have never tried them, just like the idea of them (visually). I doubt I would even flip them open to use them that way very much because that torque must be significant on those tiny pins. I just like the concept.

I've seen those tuners before, but I didn't know they were called "flip-out" tuners. I thought you were talking about robot tuners, because everybody flipped out when Gibson put them on ALL of their guitars!

Actually just remembered the painful gas I've been experiencing for these. I gotta get one for sure, but I'd like one of the unrevealed epiphones and on of the Kramer "just 'cuz".

I don't know about painful gas but imagining the pain if I turn the wrong way while playing it seated is enough to deter me

If i had the money, I'ld buy a vintage strat, from 59-64. I'ld have to play it first, so thats an issue being how rare they are to find to test. These often go for 20-30K. I believe I have made several partscasters now that might be close to the range of that era. It would be special to own a good vintage one in comparison, and to gawk at.

I could afford this. I'd personally prefer the model with the MT versions of the pickups which I think may be from the first year they were out:

I've always been a fan of the Narrowfield and this just seems to be my ultimate HSH. Not to mention that if you haven't tried a PRS Hollow or SH guitar they really knock them out of the guitar. Ones that look like a thinline you think wouldn't sound that different. With PRS it really does.

My Holy Grail guitar is a Gibson 1942 Banner J-45 Acoustic They're right at $5000 so I don't really believe I'll ever get one but thanks for a dreamers thread.

It's a cool name... I like dramatically saying: "I call it.... 'The Eclipse'", when I show it to people, like I'm revealing some macabre piece of dark technology, or something.

This would be sweet...but far more expensive than I think I'll want to invest in any guitar, about a grand.
Also, I'd have to change the pickups at least...or at the minimum the bridge pup and rewire the neck. So I'm not seriously looking for one on the cheap. But i'd like one indeed "just because".

My Custom Shop Bubinga J-45 is one of my most favorite guitars I've ever owned.
There are exactly 30 Bubinga J-45's and only one of those is a lefty.
After they were made Bubinga went on CITES endangered species list thus there will never be more.
I feel lucky.

@mickey I don't know about you but the older I get the more I love playing acoustic guitars I have one of the Gibson G-45 Studio's I bought used in mint condition for $850. They were only made for a couple of years now they have introduced the made in the USA G (Generation) series and most of these are Walnut same as mine except mine is all Walnut including the fretboard and sounds great but very different from Mahogany or Rosewood. I also have a Yamaha A5M all Mahogany dreadnaught I bought as B-stock from AMS for $1000 it's incredibly well made and to my eye a beautiful guitar. To bad we don't live closer to each other I would love to pick music with you because I've got a feeling that you're a sleeper don't say much about your playing ability but put a guitar in your hands and I'd bet you make most of us sound like first day beginners.

Here's my two 6 strings I also have a Yamaha FG 820 12 string.

Absolutely!

Even the ones that can be played plugged in or unplugged get played unplugged 99% of the time.
The stuff I listen to on YouTube etc. are all acoustic anymore.

If you have not tried an Eastman acoustic, you should!
They are making a lot of Martin & Gibson 1940's copies (which are better than you can get from Martin or Gibson for a lot more money! Than Eastman's co$t!)
