Richard smith has some magic fingers. I routinely watch the video of him playing the Entertainer with Tommy Emmanuel watching.

Interesting sidenote is that Martin Taylor plays a Fender.

Actually, Martin Taylor plays a Peerless. I know because I have one on order. :D

Martin has a bunch of guitars, but the only one that has ever made a "Martin Taylor Signature Model" is Peerless. :D
There is even a video on youtube about his collection.

Fantastic, looking forward to a NGD thread - you have not had one of those in awhile.

That's the one. So many mind blowing things happening, but for one the progression from 1:44-1:48 or so doesn't seem like it should be humanly possible. I wonder how many times he's practiced that.

Probably not. :D
The story about Richard is that his dad was a wannabe thumbpicker. One day when Richard's age was in the single digits, his dad came home from work and found
young Richard had gotten out dad's Gretsch and was playing along with all of dad's record collection (Chet, Merle Travis. Jerry Reed, etc.) and by age 11 Richard was
sharing the stage of the Royal Albert Hall with Chet. There is a recording of that on youtube somewhere.

Richard it like a human recording device. He can hear someone play something exactly once & play it back to them!

But I'll tell you, if half dozen guys are standing around BSing, telling jokes, arguing sports, etc. Somebody will always have to explain the jokes to Richard.
:D

Thanks Jeff. But I don't have it yet. :) It got into FedEx hands this afternoon about 5pm your time,
I should see it Friday morning. And it is a "new to me" guitar, as they say in the car business "pre-owned."
But it appears to be in 99.9% of new condition.
I'm looking forward to it as it is either an acoustic or electric depending on how you want to use it.
You don't see a whole lot of all solid wood archtops these days.

Incidentally, you wouldn't want to be here today! Tropical storm Mindy was named about 4pm today and
made landfall slightly east of Panama City about 6:30ish.

Of everything Richard plays, this is probably my favorite:

Wish I could play it!
