We have a Free Summer Concert series. Due to Covid restrictions most were cancelled this year. However, Samantha Fish put on a great show last night. Some bluesy stuff with a few other genres thrown in that suited her voice and vibe really well. She can flat-out rock and sounded especially good with a fuzz pedal.

A fun band out of Georgia, Eddie 9V, opened. You can tell that the band was having a great time and his guitar work was pretty slick.

Apologies for the poor photo quality. My camera is made to withstand drops, spills, laundry machines, etc (I'm klutzy and forgetful).

I have seen her once before and she can definitely play, somewhat ironically she played with Walter Trout when I saw her.

Nice!

I went to see Gov’t Mule and Trombone Shorty on Saturday. We were right up front so we could hear the raw sound of Warren and Jorgan’s amps rather than the PA which was a nice treat. They sounded great. First larger size show I have been to in two years!

I am extremely Jelly of that - never seen Mule or Warren in person and definitely first on my list when the time comes. Well, I have to see a live Monte Montgomery show first too but in any case...

I have seen Warren a ton, way more than I could count or remember. I have seen a ton of Allmans shows, a smaller number of Mule shows and also Warren in a couple of other projects (Phil and friends, with an orchestra etc.). Never seen him put on a bad show.

I went to the concert Saturday with an old HS buddy who is a HUGE Mule fan. We first saw Warren together in 1989 on his first tour with the Allmans, when none of us had any idea who he was. Pretty sure we only saw Darien Lake and Syracuse shows that summer, but we used to travel a bit to see them and other bands. Thinking back now as a parent, I can't believe our parents used to let us hop in cars with anyone who had a license and travel 4-5 hours to go to a concert and then stay in a hotel room with 8-10 kids and all sorts of debauchery going on! My wife never would have let our kids do that at 16-17 let alone 13 when we started to do it.

And BTW, I love Samantha Fish, and for that matter Walter Trout too!

Just saw the black crowes as my first big show in what, 2 years. It was outstanding. Funny, being away from big concerts so long I'd of thought it would have made a bigger impression. I guess its because I never really shut down. I already went to lots of open mics and a number of smaller free shows outdoors. Love to see some fish. And Mule would be on my list too.

Noice @tlarson58! I saw Sam a couple of years ago and I was blown away. She's uber talented and her live show is just amazing.
