Quickly...

- I arranged my schedule to work a half-day (with the goal of enjoying some serious guitar-time at inappropriate decibel levels).
- Came home to chewed-up-and-empty 10 oz package of raisins.
- Called vet in a panic (raisins are really poisonous to dogs)
- Attempted to induce vomiting with a turkey baster-full of Hydrogen Peroxide. She burped. Once.
- Sped to vet clinic
- Vet induced vomiting (yielding 10 oz of raisins) and filled her with a tall boy of activated charcoal (pictured, yum).
- $200.

Here's the thing: Our house is Izzy-proofed because she eats everything. I must have left them on the counter so it's my fault.

I shudder to think about the total amount that dog's tummy has cost me in vet bills and PTO.

Don't allow them to eat grapes either!
Blueberries are very good for dogs.
Murphy gets a hand full of blueberries every morning.
But you might lose a finger if Murphy is afraid he might not get the berry!

I dropped my pupper off this morning to get neutered. Scheduled to pickup tomorrow.

Gotta take care of the furry family members.

Dont know when this got dangerous.
I used to feed my dog grapes all the time. After a handful I'd stop because I didnt want her to get the runs.

Glad to hear the dog is OK! And for $200, I think you got off pretty lightly. We had to get rid of almost all of our houseplants because the cats won't stop eating them, and something like 99% of houseplants are toxic to cats. The worst we ever had was some vomiting, but that was bad enough - and then there was the fact that all the plants were chewed up and ragged and looked like crap, which kind of made it pointless anyway.

I need to take one of my cats in for a dental cleaning, and that is not going to be cheap...it's not so much the cleaning, it's the fact that they have to be under general anesthesia for it (because a cat is not exactly going to sit there and let you clean its teeth), and for that, they have to have blood work done to make sure they're in good enough health for the anesthesia.

Vet bills are high I had insurance on my dog but even though vet visits are expensive dogs truly are our best friends.

I hope your pup is doing better. We spent a fortune on our guy Marley in his last year. Would do it all over again if necessary.

Glad your dog is alright. I didn't know that grapes/raisins were poisonous to dogs.
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!
