Let´s see how many jump in.
I know most folks here prefer real amps and effect pedals, but there are some others that do have/use multi effects/modelers; some of them I remember are docknapp and tobijohn using amplifire, tvvoodoo rp1000, deeaa boss gt6(IIRC)/gt1, flatline uses a boss gt1, rockyoworld uses a high tech unit, don´t remember the name , mossman uses a zoom g5n and he´s currently awaiting for a Nux MG-30 unit, Brianskeezer a zoom g5, some others use RP500, etc.
So, this thread could be like the ME inventory of AGF users.
I´m interested because I could use your experience depending on what you have/had and how you use/used it.
This includes units like Fender Mustang modeler amps, Katana, etc., and even those little plug-in units like valeton rushead and the likes.
Most of you know I have an old Fender Mustang 1 v1 amp.
Home use, recording. Good sounds, lacks a little on the heavy department IMHO, and could have use a couple of effects that were available in some other units at the same time, I´m talking about acoustic guitar simulators, for example. Maybe they are not that great, but for a guy like me, it would have been great to have. For live-like use, you can only swtich between two presets with a one button footswitch, so it´s not that versatile.
Who´s next?
Do you have/use a Multi effects/modeler unit? Which one?

I have a few units from Fractal Audio
- AX8
- Axe FX II XL+ (w/ MFC101 Mk3 foot controller)
- Axe FX III (w/ FC-12 foot controller)
I also have a LINE 6 AMPLIFi amp, if that counts. Just realized that it might work well as an "FRFR speaker" for my Fractal units...

If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.
I just picked up a little headphone amp with effects, was like $35 with tax. Lekato sells it, but there are a bunch of other vendors selling the same thing.
Stock settings are all too much effects or gain, but it is actually pretty user friendly and got them sounding acceptable now. I am honestly surprised how good the Bluetooth works for streaming music to it to play along with. I use it along with my Fender Play app and it has been a game changer for practicing more than just goofing around.
Also have a Fender SCX2 head, ID:60 Blackstar combo and my Zoom G3Xn.
All of which are excellent, but they have drawbacks for trying to play when my daughter goes to bed at 7 or 730 every night.

10 years, 2 months, and 8 days of blissful ignorance ruined by that snake in the grass Major Tom.
I have had a few and currently own a Line 6, Avid 11r, and an Atomic. The only one that gets any use these days is the Atomic Amplifier 6 that I bought for quiet practice and headphone use. It works great for that where the features of the bigger better units are not really needed.
I also use a Suhr-RL IR for headphones and quiet practice by reamping with one of my MosValves and powering the cabs with full volume control.

I have the Helix LT, a Spark, and a little Nux headphone amp/modeler.
I spent WAY too much money on the Helix and the studio monitors for it. It sounds AMAZING but I don't use it enough to have spent the money on it.
Then again, I don't really use any of my amps enough to spend a dime on them honestly. LOL

Don´t know much about the 11r, and heard very good things about the AF6. Never knew about the Suhr unit. Seems to be nice.Chocol8 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 4:34 pm I have had a few and currently own a Line 6, Avid 11r, and an Atomic. Heard good things about them, including the NUX headphone amp; I believe Aaron @RiverDog has one and likes it a lot.

I forgot you have a Mustang too. The clean amps sounds great, for some heavier sounds I like the Fender Super Sonic.
I have to get the most out of just one unit, in my case. Can´t afford to build a mini recording studio - interface, pedals, amp(s), acoustic guitars, bass, etc. - and I also need to have the minimum gear possible, so if the ME/modeler has all of that, and sounds decent enough, I´m a happy camper. I don´t regret buying it 10 years ago; I could only budget $100, and I thought it was the best one to buy in a quality-features/price relation. If it had an acoustic sim and a bass sim, I think it would be almost perfect.
I´d choose different today, though.

Yeah, I've found some a few bucks cheaper from other brands, but overall I'm happy with the purchase.sabasgr68 wrote:Really? is this Lekato? I did not have success loading IRs though. Not sure if it was operator error, bad IR files, or the device itself needing special IR files.
Only thing that annoys me is I can't use it with a Strat without some sort of male to female extension due to the location of the knobs relative the jack. (Righties wouldn't have this problem...)

I still have my Zoom G5, and still like it, but I've moved to a Line 6 Pod Go. I programmed my own patches and really like the way it sounds. I mostly play it through my Peavy Bandit red stripe, but don't model any amps that way. I just use the effect models through the amp. My amp modeling patches work really well through headphones or direct into my Zoom R24 recorder, but don't sound so good through the amp. I also downloaded some IRs for it that sound way better than the preset cabs.
Kemper Profiler here, although as a few folks have said, not sure the amount of playing I do really justifies the expense. It is super nice though.
Narsh will probably chime in at some point; he uses a Kemper *and* an Axe FX. And he makes them sound great. Whereas you don't want to use me as your sample guitarist for anything lol

It feels sturdy enough for what it is. It doesn't have switches or pots to wear out, just the 4 tactile buttons on the face.sabasgr68 wrote:Thanks! Your feedback is really good. Micro USB for power and connection to allow recording are pretty standard as is the 3.5mm jack. No different than any Android up to the USB C change.
The 1/4" jack does have the chamfered surface where it goes into the body that should make it more sturdy than a Amplug for instance. Not sure how they connect to the PCB, but I imagine as long as you aren't leaving it plugged in and dropping it on the plug off a stand, or banging it into a door frame too hard, it will hold up to normal use just fine.

Yeah, those Vox Amplugs are easy to break. I broke one just pulling it out of my guitar.honyock wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:03 amIt feels sturdy enough for what it is. Given that I am generally a bottom feeder, I have an Eleven Rack that I bought used a few years back. For what I need it to do, it sounds great, is easy to operate, and doesn't have too much stuff that I don't need. Heck, half the time I am subtracting effects from the presets anyway.
I need to download the standalone desktop setup to get more presets and the like.
That said, every once in a while I think about upgrading to a Headrush, but I am not sure it's enough of an upgrade to justify the expense, even used.

My main one for gigs was my mustang floor into my tube amp. It worked fairly well but for grab and go practice I have vox vt40. It works well enough and has enough decent different tones to get by.
Plus 2 vox rock amplugs and 1 metal one. I keep getting presents. And I dont like any of them. Been trying to sell on cl but not a nibble.
for portable or in ear I do like my pandora Px? 4 or 5? It sounds pretty good.
@sabasgr68 I agree the mustang supersonic is my fav highergain model too.

I love my Headrush Gigboard plugged into studio monitors at home and 2 FRFR108 cabs if I want to be loud or gig
I used it in these...
And more on my channel.
