There was pretty busy thread over on the SX/Rondo facebook group which appears to have mulitple AGF members as well. There were more that one old AGF members that were not even aware that the .net site exists and thought AGF was dead.
Several members from here, me included shared the link and an invite to come here. One user mentioned that he tried to sign up here but that his registration was pending approval from mods. Just wanted to make sure we aren't turning people away by not realizing they are trying to sign up - is that an automatic feature or do mods manually approve new members?

Not sure how they're doing it here but I think having people get approved is a good idea...in today's world there are 100,000 bots and scammers and all types of things trying to get into every group imaginable so unless we want this place overrun with that crap having members manually approved (and making them maybe answer some guitar related questions) is a sound idea.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 3:14 pm There was pretty busy thread over on the SX/Rondo facebook group which appears to have mulitple AGF members as well. I asked him to pass on what he used as the new username, he definitely said that when he went through the sign-up process that a mod needed to approve it - or at least that was the message he got. I'd hate to think people might be getting turned away because something is blocking them from signing up.

Me too. But it has always been sign up & go.
I'm around here more than Patrick, TJ & Rich combined have been lately.
Everyone's life is busier some times than at others.
We have always had folks sign up & never return, take a look at the members list & you'll see.
Never have understood that.

Sorry for the delay, there is an approval step as we were getting overrun with spam signups,
Please let me know the usernames and I will sort it!

Thanks, I passed this on to the folks over on FB that were waiting as well and if they didn't see anything I asked them to pass on their UN.

It's kinda hard to know if an account is real or not, I look at the email address to see if it 'looks' like a real address, the user,e to see if it's remotely sensible, and the location of the IP
Hopefully I've got it right this time, if we get any spam I'm sure Mickey will be all over it

Do new members have to prove that their neck is stable?
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.
I'm sure you guys will help them wind it in if it isn't

Maybe that can be a verification question in order to sort spammers/bots....
Complete the sentence.
Neck is ________________?
1. Unstable

We already have a question, but once the bots figure the answer, it starts again, it's WAY better than it used to be, but still a good few coming through in clumps (technical term)
Looks like you did it right
