I can promise lots of rehearsal space, a gig or two and plenty of stuff to do. August can be hot, but not as hot at lower elevations.

We are planning a trip out that way with the family for next year, my wife's best friend lives in Longmont but we'll probably be all over the place. This year is mostly shot for me with everyone "getting back to normal". There seem to be at least 5 times as many things going on at one time each weekend than there were before!

The border’s still a tricky business, so I don’t think it’s in the cards this year. Plus, I need at least a year to work on my blazing pentatonic lead licks!

I love the idea, even if there is no chance I could go.

We should hold this triennially at a secret resort in Colorado, known as "The Meadows."

Too far away for me to make it, but wish I could.

EGADS! I've not been to Colorado since 1969! Does it still snow in July out there?

Great sentiment/idea, sadly my summer is accounted for and, like Milkman says, border issues particularly since I'm holding out for the J&J

This would be so much fun but I'm in san diego and thats a hell of a trip. I just had my Yosemite vacation but maybe Ill be retired by next year. Maybe a slim chance if I were to add a camping trip on to it somehow. Or if im retired I'll be too poor to go anywhere. :(
I said yep but next year but thats still slim.
MAybe someplace closer like LA ? somewhere in AZ?

No sooner than July 21st but anything that occurs before then can and will be used as an excuse for yet another extension.

As i understand it, it's not the Canadian leg-chewing border beavers stopping me from leaving, it's the USA that stops me from entering. As I understand it, Canadians are obviously evil and unwanted to even visit, but all manner of opportunistic and unvetted individuals seem welcome to permanently settle in the USA from the south. If you are asking because you are considering a visit to the temperate Florida-like weather of Northern Saskatchewan (+34 as I write this) then it would be PM Trudeau and his minions barring your way.

OH! What I've been hearing down here in the state of collapsing condos is that it was your Border Beavers keeping us worthless Americanos out.
+34? It never got that cold last winter! :D

When I last looked into it for traveling for work a few months ago, it was the Canadian government requirements, not US. At that time, I would've had to quarantine for 2 weeks at a hotel after getting there and then quarantine another 2 weeks before leaving. Wasn't worth it to go and do a 2 hour repair job at a customer's facility.
If I had something witty to say, I'd put it here.

Yep, US border is open for Canadians to come here and I know a number who have. The difficulty is going back, and for non-Canadians going to Canada is very difficult and requires an acceptable reason. A friend of mine who owns property in Canada has not even been allowed to go to maintain his place which is the only house on an island. Can’t get more socially distanced than that!

All I know is once I went on a fishing trip to Lac Seul and the leg-chewing border beavers confiscated all my homemade jerky (made with loving care by my dear mother) because it was not labeled properly. All subsequent legislation has likely been a result of my beef.

On a somewhat serious note though, most of Wisconsin/Minnesota/NoDak has been running around without any restrictions of any kind for months now, so i'm not sure what the problem is with letting people back and forth. I'm not even sure if North Dakota even participated in the pandemic.

Would have to be during ski season for me. I'ld get my tele race skis and dust them off and wax them up. I have raced a couple of times at Steamboat, but never got to check out the bulk of the mountain. I dont even own powder skis, being an eastern skier. Spent 6 years training out of Park City and still never owned powder skis. Just fast carving alpine race skis for slalom and GS.

Sounds like fun, but I'm just not in a travel mode these days. I had a ton of work trips for many years, and maybe that burned me out on travel.

I'm all for something like this (some of you might remember I tried to get something like this together a few years ago in LA), unfortunately, I can't go anywhere in the summer months. It's the busiest time of year where I work, and I'm the only one here who can do my job, so I'm stuck here.

Otherwise, I'd love to go. I haven't been in Colorado since 1999 (actually, I was there in 2004, but I was just passing through). Some day I'll tell the story about the time I drove across the Rockies in a 25 year old POS that was falling apart... fun times. :D
Finally escaping the People's Republic of Kalifornia!
